8 BCBU Plus: Barents Cross-Border University Development Project Overall objective to contribute to the development of the Barents region by promoting cross-border academic cooperation for the knowledge-based economics in the Barents region. Goals: to harmonize, expand and integrate the BCBU Master s degree programmes to regular activities of universities. to develop models of good practices for implementation and cooperation for cross border master s programmes to strenghten and institutionalise a cross border campus for implementing the master s degree and later for the PhD degree education Activities 1. Virtual Campus: establishment of common e-learning and web conferencing platform, increasing of availability of academic and research material, publication of the Cross Border Cooperation handbook 2. Best Practices: developing administrative practice, developing academic practices

9 BART: Private-Public Partnership in Barents-Tourism Overall objective to contribute to the regional and economic development of the Barents region Specific objective to create and initiate development mechanisms in long term public-private partnership for the tourism industry on all stakeholders levels. Main activities: 1. Establishing research and development peer-review group (review group) 2. Creating Action Plan for Barents region tourism research and development 3. Activating research and development cooperation in public-private partnership

10 ArctiChildrenInNet: Empowering School e-health Model in the Barents region Started in March 2012 Overall objective to improve the common challenges of the schoolchildren s health and well-being, security and cultural identity through ICT applications in the Barents region. Specific objective to develop an Empowering School e-health Model by implementing approaches in every participating country. Results expected Cross-border frame of reference for achieving an empowering school e-health / e-learning model Action research to assess the actual ICT use for development of school e-health and e-learning applications Build up an ICT environment with new interventions and practices New interventions / practices created for starting empowering school e-health / e-learning dialogue Empowering School e-health Model developed
