2 2 INTERNATIONAL RANKINGS The UAH is listed in the world s three leading rankings, as well as in other major international surveys: QS WORLD UNIVERSITY RANKING: Our University has been listed in the QS World University Ranking since 2012, and has been one of the 700 best universities in the world since then. The ranking lists the 850 best universities and contains 18 Spanish universities. According to this ranking, the University of Alcalá is also Spain s second best at attracting international students. In 2014, the UAH 14 was also included in the Arts and Humanities ranking, which lists the 400 best universities in the world (the UAH is 347th). In 2015, the UAH was also included among the 200 best universities in the world in the subjects of English Language and Literature and Modern Languages. Moreover, in 2013 our University underwent a process of international accreditation by QS (QS Stars University Ratings), gaining the highest score (5 stars) in the areas of internationalization, teaching, infrastructures, innovation and social commitment. SHANGHAI ACADEMIC RANKING OF WORLD UNIVERSITIES (ARWU): The UAH was incorporated into the 2013 edition of the ranking prepared by the Jiao Tong University of Shanghai. In that year (2013), the UAH was ranked among the 200 best universities in the world in the subject of Computer Science. Within the specific rankings by subject there are a total of 21 Spanish universities.

According to this ranking, the University of Alcalá is also Spain s second best at attracting international students.

3 3 QS WORLD UNIVERSITY RANKING BY SUBJECT: In its 2015 edition, the University of Alcalá s degrees in English Language and Literature and Modern Languages were among the world s top 200. This prestigious ranking provides a complete guide to the world s best universities by subject. The classification is based on reputation surveys completed by over 85,000 academics and 41,000 employers and on research results (citations and H index). GRUP SURVEY: The UAH is the top Spanish public university in the ranking of international students, coming first for undergraduate studies and second overall. The UAH is also the third best university in Spain in terms of graduate employability. This study uses 40 indicators to evaluate 1,200 higher education institutions worldwide. U MULTIRANK: The UAH obtains maximum scores for international mobility (incoming students and outgoing students) and external fundraising for research, both in the Global Ranking as well as in the specific knowledge areas evaluated (Medicine and Computer Science). In the area of Computer Science, the results include research activity for which the UAH is among the top European universities in terms of total volume of publications and high-impact publications (the most cited 10% in their area). STUDY PORTALS, one of the leading international portals for degree promotion, has awarded the University of Alcalá its Certificate for International Student Satisfaction for Very Good International Student Satisfaction in recognition of the satisfaction our international students expressed with their experience of life at our university.

4 4 NATIONAL RANKINGS In Spain, the University of Alcalá is also listed in the main university rankings and classifications, and is usually in at least the top third of the table: EMPLOYABILITY: The UAH is the top Spanish university for employability according to the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sports Report on University Students Labour Insertion ( ). GLOBAL RANKING OF SPANISH PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES: According to the study conducted by two researchers at the University of Valencia and published in 2013, the UAH is the top Spanish public university for overall quality (teaching, research and social engagement). EL MUNDO: In the 2015 edition, five UAH undergraduate degree courses are among the best in Spain: Physiotherapy, English Studies, Environmental Sciences, Telematics Engineering and Biology. The UAH is also listed in the same newspaper s ranking of University Master s degrees (8 of its degree courses in the 2015 listing). BBVA-IVIE FOUNDATION (2015): In the ranking produced by the BBVA-IVIE Foundation, the University of Alcalá comes fourth for teaching, fifth for global productivity (ISSUE-P), eighth for research productivity, and twelfth for innovation and technological development (out of the 59 public and private universities evaluated). Furthermore, all of our Undergraduate degrees are rated in the top 5 of their specialty and, of these, 15 are placed first.

5 5 CYD RANKING: The UAH ranks as the third Spanish public university in the ranking, and the top Spanish public university for attracting international and Spanish undergraduate and graduate students (jointly with the University of Salamanca). The UAH was the second best Spanish university in the field of Electrical Engineering and third best for Business Studies. Third best for Computer Science and 7th best for Medicine. RESEARCH RANKING OF SPANISH PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES (University of Granada, 2012). 8th place for research lines per professor, 12th place for number of doctoral theses examined, and 14th place for teaching staff productivity.

The UAH was the second best Spanish university in the field of Electrical Engineering and third best for Business Studies.

6 6 SPECIALISED RANKINGS In recent years, the UAH has also been included in some rankings specializing in certain areas, thereby raising the profile of its work. They include the following: GREENMETRIC: The UAH is in twelfth place in the world (among more than 300 universities assessed) in terms of environmental sustainability. The ranking includes 14 Spanish universities, with UAH the highest ranked. COOLMYPLANET: The University of Alcalá is the 3rd most sustainable university in the world. The UAH has also obtained the Certificate of Environmental Sustainability, which recognises 50 universities in the world for implementing policies during 2014, to improve environmental conditions inside and outside of campus. UNIVERSITY TRANSPARENCY: The UAH is one of the seven truly transparent Spanish universities, according to the latest Spanish Universities Transparency Report (2014), produced by the Fundación Compromiso y Transparencia (Commitment and Transparency Foundation). In 2014, the UAH also received the Diploma for the Most Transparent Spanish Public University in the academic year, awarded by the Transparency, Good Governance and Communication research group at the Complutense University of Madrid, based on an academic study which analyzes the transparency of 50 Spanish public universities. SOCIAL NETWORKS: The UAH ranks as the Spanish university with the most influence on social networks, together with the UNED, according to the Klout index (Klout index 66-68).

The ranking includes 14 Spanish universities, with UAH the highest ranked. COOLMYPLANET: The University of Alcalá is the 3rd most sustainable university in the world.
