2 HAITI Place of Performance: Port-au-Prince Award amount : $ Award Term : Project Title: Prévention, accompagnement et réinsertion d'enfants victimes ou à risque de violence à Cité Soleil The project provides immediate response to psychosocial distress children through the establishment and support of Child Friendly Spaces. Furthermore the intervention reinforces identification, documentation, follow-up, care and protection of unaccompanied children and other vulnerable children and prevent children from SGVB and separation. Target: 7,500 children. HAITI Place of Performance : Port-au-Prince Award amount : $ Project Title: Nutritional support for children under five and pregnant and lactating women at-risk affected by earthquake The main objective is to guarantee nutritional support to 30,000 people through the set-up of 6 temporary nutrition posts. After a first period of screening for acute malnutrition, the project give nutrition support and treatment (prevention, therapy, and education) to malnourished children and pregnant and breastfeeding women. The project includes also activities of school support for 2,200 children who left school due to the conflict and the construction 2 school support centres in Sake (Masisi) and Kanyabayonga (Sud Lubero).

The project will: Assess specific training needs and mapping schools in partnership with PEAR/RRM, and EPSP Identifying practical approaches to implement AGR in at least 50% of identified schools Training of trainers following psychosocial module Training of teachers and EPSP supervisors Organize activities for the psychosocial support of students Sensitization of parents and people of the local communities on the importance of education Impact assessment Place of Performance: Award Amount: value $ 1.447,100 Cash: $ ,50 Supply: ,50 Award Term: Project Title: Program of Expanded Assistance to Returns Aim of the program was to assist the return of IDPs as a first step towards a durable solution, by providing timely and accurate information concerning return zones, assure access to education for children, distribution of non food item. The project produced the following results : Identification of returnees families returned families 18 health centres families benefited from the distribution of «foire NFI» families benefited from the distribution of FAO seeds kits Better school conditions for children Place of Performance: Nord Kivu Award Amount: $ Award Term: Project Title: Emergency protection for internally displaced children in and around settlements in the petit Nord, North Kivu, DRC The project aimed at supporting displaced children by ensuring safer conditions in 12 camps in Masisi, Rutshuru and Goma/Nyragongo territories. Thanks to the project: children and adolescents had access to protection, psychosocial, recreational and sport activities (with a specific attention to girls) Activities of identification and documentation for fast reunion of chldren with their families have been organised Several support groups have been organised for adolescents as well as specific activities for young children (0-6 yo) Activities for sensitisation and a better cohabitation between local and displaced communities have been organised.

4 Place of Performance: Award Amount: $ Award Term: Project Title: Réponse d'urgence pour la protection des enfants déplacés et retournés au Nord Kivu, Aim of the program is to facilitate the access and participation of 16,000 displaced children to 19 centres created to raise their psychosocial well being through recreational activities and psychosocial support. The project includes also activities aimed at preventing children separation from their families, rapid reunification and child protection Place of Performance: Award Amount: $ Award Term: 2006 Project Title: Program of Expanded Assistance to Returns Aim of the program was to assist the return of IDPs in South Kivu, as a first step towards a durable solution, by providing timely and accurate information concerning return zones to IDP families, followed by a multi-sectoral technical assessment of key return zones, the provision of NFI return kits, and assured access to education services for primary school children, underscored by effective sectoral coordination. The project produced the following results: Accurate information to potential returnees regarding conditions in their villages of origin is timely disseminated to 25,000 families. Based on emergency standards, 8,000 pupils had access to primary basic education through light rehabilitation or temporary constructed schools and/or distribution of scholastic materials in selected key return zone 5,000 families returned identified, registered and benefited from distribution of NFI. Findings of multi sector assessment are shared with humanitarian actors via the Cluster Leadership Approach RWANDA Place of Performance: Rwanda Award Amount: $ ,15 Award Term: Project Title : Avenant au projet: La protection de l enfant à travers une approche intégrée Phase II Aim of the project is to better life conditions of 100 vulnerable children, to capacitate 30 primary school teachers in preventing and recognising sexual and physical abuse, to reinforce local knowledge of HIV transmission and other health related issue, promote integration of refugees with local community. Beneficiaries of the project are : 552 returnees families from Tanzanie (about people) people participating to mobile tents 100 children received the minimum pack 30 teachers trained

The project obtained the following results: 2 training sessions, 5 days each on psychosocial issues 1 training session for trainers 60 primary school teachers trained on preventing abuses 360 home visits to children made by teachers contacts in the 7 areas of intervention in the District of Gatsibo on HIV prevention and other health related issues Project Title : La protection de l enfant à travers une approche intégrée Aim of the project is to raise life conditions of beneficiaries in 5 areas of intervention; contribute to child protection against sexual and physical abuse; contribute to change behaviour and habits that favour HIV transmission. The project obtained the following results: 2 training sessions, 5 days each on psychosocial issues 60 primary school teachers trained on preventing abuses contacts in the 5 areas of intervention on HIV prevention and other health related issues families received food kits 11 local associations capacitated 70% of malnourished children improved their nutritional condition UGANDA Place of Performance: Amuru, Gulu, Pader and Kitgum districts Award Amount: $ ,24 Project Title: Support to Health Sector Strategic Plan (HSSP II) and the Peace, Recovery and Development Plan (PRDP) for Northern Uganda - HSSP2 The support of to the health services has included capacity building activities such as funding the recruitment and deployment of additional personnel, construction and renovation of health facilities, distribution of drugs, sundries, IT and medical equipment, and trainings for health workers. Award Term: UGANDA Place of Performance: Northern Uganda Award Amount: $ ,83 Award Term: Project Title: Improving Water and Sanitation conditions in schools in Northern Uganda The overall goal was to contribute to containment and control of the outbreak of Hepatitis E Virus (HEV) in the affected areas through the efficient, effective, and timely implementation of response activities on Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene programmes targeted at the most vulnerable. The project beneficiaries were 13,200 (7,255 males and 5,945 females) and 160 teachers in 20 schools in Kitgum and Pader districts

6 UGANDA Place of Performance: Northern Uganda Award Amount: $ ,42 Award Term: Project Title: Support to comprehensive Prevention of Mother to Child transmission of HIV (PMTCT) in Kitgum and Pader Discricts, northern Uganda The project was designed to respond to PMTCT in a comprehensive manner, including increasing community knowledge of HIV & AIDS and PMTCT as well as providing available services and supporting the DHO and health workers to improve the quality and scale-up of PMTCT services offered to pregnant mothers, babies and their partners at the health center level. Beneficiaries of the project were 25,000 pregnant women and their babies, 884 health workers and VHT/TBAs, and 10,000 vulnerable people in Kitgum and Pader districts. UGANDA 2007 Place of Performance: Karamoja Region Award Amount: $ ,31 Award Term: 2007 Project Title: Livelihood and Human Security - Phase I in Karamoja Region This project entailed a detailed analysis of the livelihood strategies and human security of communities among the Bokora, Matheniko, Tepeth and Pokot tribal groups. Field work was conducted in manyattas and associated kraals of these groups, and is one of the few recent projects to gather detailed information from kraal populations. The study employed a livelihoods framework and examined gender and generational dynamics throughout.
