2 Important information Safety precautions Do not use or store the device in dusty places, where the humidity is high or in extreme temperatures. Do not operate the device with wet hands to avoid the risk of device damage or electric shock. Do not clean the device with chemicals, such as benzine or detergents always clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. Disconnect the device from the computer prior to cleaning. Do not modify or fix the device yourself in any way, it might void the guarantee. Do not drop or shake the device. Avoid using this product and all accessories outdoors. Only use the power adapter that comes with the package. Using a different voltage rating power adapter may damage the router. Information concerning waste electronic equipment The markings on the device and in the attached documentation indicate that it cannot be disposed of along with unsegregated general black bag waste when withdrawn from use. The device must be recycled or processed in another way to recover reusable materials and neutralize hazardous components. The users should contact recycling/recovery authorities to determine how the device is to be disposed of in an environment-friendly manner. 5 Introduction PENTAGRAM Cerberus P6360 / P6361 / P / P6362 / P6363 ADSL, WiFi LAN/WAN five similar models, which differ mainly in the speed of data transfer and wireless WiFi coverage: P up 150 Mb/s in n, one antenna 5dBi P up 300 Mb/s in n, one antenna 5dBi (detachable) P up 300 Mb/s in n, dwo antenna 5 dbi P up 300 Mb/s in n, dwo antenna 5 dbi P up 300 Mb/s in n, one antenna 5dBi Common features for models: - Built-in firewall provides protection against attacks from the outside, when someone might try to steal, delete or rearrange data on our computers. - WPA, WEP, MAC Filter - with encrypted connections and can set the access to our router, we protect our computers against attacks from the Internet and direct attempts to break into your router via a wireless network. Nobody wants to link to our broken into the bank, sent on illegal software or published the material also illegal. - Parental Controls (URL blocking) - Security also provide support for parental control, you can specify the range of your computer access to the Internet and specific web pages. In this guide you will find all the information needed to install the router, and connect to a computer for further configuration. 7 Example connecting the router and other devices Model P6360 has one antenna 5 dbi Model P6361 has one antenna 5 dbi (detachable). Model P6362 has two 5dBi antenna. Model P6363 has three 5 dbi antenna. Model P6369 has a 5dBi antenna. Configuring network properties Before a connection (wired or wireless) can be established between your computer and the router, TCP/IP must be configured in the operating system (this protocol should be installed automatically by the system when installing network adapter drivers). It is recommended to configure TCP/IP so that the IP address and other connection settings are obtained from the router s DHCP server. This configuration is described below for various Windows systems. Note: In some cases, a computer running Windows 7, Windows Vista or Windows XP Service Pack 3 may not obtain an IP address from the router s DHCP server. To solve this issue, please follow the instructions provided on the Microsoft technical support website at Windows Vista/7 Note: You need administrative privileges to perform network configuration. During configuration, it may be necessary to click Allow (Windows Vista) or Yes (Windows 7) in the User Account Control dialog, and provide an administrative user name and password if the current user does not have administrative privileges. 7

8 1. Click Start Control Panel. 2. Click View network status and tasks. 3. Click View status (Vista) or click the connection type (7) for your connection. 4. On the General tab, click Properties. 5. On the Networking tab, select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties. 6. On the General tab, select Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically. 7. Click OK to save the settings and close the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties dialog. 8

9 Windows 2000/XP 1. Click Start Settings Control Panel. 2. Double-click the Network Connections icon (2000/XP classic view) or Network and Internet Connections and then Network Connections (XP default view). 3. Double-click Local Area Connection. 4. On the General tab, click Properties. 5. On the General tab, select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties. 6. On the General tab, select Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically. 7. Click OK to save the settings and close the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties dialog. 9

10 Windows 95/98/Me 1. Click Start > Settings > Control Panel. 2. Double-click the Network icon. 3. On the Configuration tab, select TCP/IP for the appropriate network adapter and click Properties. 4. On the IP Address tab, select Obtain an IP address automatically. 5. On the DNS Configuration tab, select Disable DNS. 6. Click OK to save the settings and close the TCP/IP Properties dialog. To verify whether your adapter has a valid IP address: 1. Click Start > Run (Windows 98/ME/ 2000/XP) or Start > All programs > Accessories > Run (Windows Vista/7) to display the Run dialog. 2. Type cmd (Win 2000/XP/Vista/7) or command (Win 98/ME) and press Enter. 3. Type ipconfig /all (Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7) or winipcfg (Windows 98/ME) in the command line and press Enter. 4. Check whether the IP Address entry for the appropriate network adapter matches the address pool of the router s DHCP server, e.g

11 Default settings Before configuring the router, we recommend reviewing the default settings for key router parameters shown below. If you ever forget the access password for the router, please reset the device to its default settings. 12 Configuration router 1. Start a web browser 2. In the address bar type the default IP address: In the dialog box, type a password to access the router (default: pentagram) 3. Once logged in, you will get a basic configuration of internet access. 13 Navigation After successful logging in, the router's configuration page will be displayed. 15 Ustawienia WAN The appearance of this page depends on the options selected from the list mode (Typ połączenia). This site allows you to change the connection type of Internet service you selected in quick setup and configure detailed settings. PPPoE PPPoE (PPP over Ethernet) provides access control in a manner similar to dial-up services using PPP. Tryb - show your current connection mode. Select the appropriate connection mode depending on your needs: 1. Note: The "Połącz w określonym czasie" works properly only if you set the current time in "Narzędzia systemowe" -> "Ustawienia czasu". Click OK button, to apply and save your changes. Click Anuluj button, to cancel your changes. Statyczne IP (Static IP) Select this option to manually enter all the parameters received from the service provider. If the ISP did not provide data to configure, select Dynamic. Adres IP - enter the WAN IP address from the service provider.. Maski podsieci - enter the WAN Subnet Mask from the service provider. 19 L2PT Select this connection type if your provider uses a L2PT connection. Tryb - show your current connection mode. 20 Ustawienia LAN On the LAN side are the basic parameters of the LAN ports. Adres MAC interfejsu LAN - The Router s physical MAC address as seen on your local network, which is unchangeable. Adres IP - the Router s LAN IP addresses (not your PC s IP address) is the default value. Maski podsieci - at this point is shown the router subnet mask that is used to determine the size of the network. The default value is Click OK button, to apply and save your changes. Click Anuluj button, to cancel your changes. NOTE: Once you modify the IP address, you need to remember it for the Web-based Utility login next time. MAC Clone This page is for the Router s MAC address to WAN. Some ISPs require end-user's MAC address to access their network. This feature copies the MAC address of your network device to the Router. MAC Address - enter the MAC address, or press the button: - Restore Default MAC click to restore default hardware MAC address - Clone MAC Address click to set the computer's MAC address from which you log into the router configuration. 20

21 Click Apply button, to apply and save your changes. Click Cancel button, to cancel your changes. Ustawienia DNS DNS is short for Domain Name System (or Service), an Internet service that translate domain names into IP addresses which are provided by your Internet Service Provider. Please consult your Internet Service Provider for details if you do not have them. Ustawienia DNS click the checkbox to enable the DNS server. The Router s DHCP sever will answer the client s requests and distribute DNS address. Podstawowy adres DNS enter the necessary address provided by your ISP. Alternatywny adres DNS(opcjonalnie) Enter an alternative address if your ISP provides, which is optional. Disable manual setting retrieves DNS server addresses from the ISP. If the DNS server addresses are incorrect or servers are unavailable Internet access will be limited. Click OK button, to apply and save your changes. Click Anuluj button, to cancel your changes. NOTE: After the settings are completed, reboot the device to activate the modified settings. 21

22 WAN Medium Typ On this page, you can choose between two wireless network modes: - Wired WAN - in this mode, the network cable is connected directly to the WAN port. Wired WAN is the default. - Wireless WAN -In this mode router acts as the wireless network access point (AP), which amplifies and relays to the wireless stations wireless signal received from ISP. Connection with the Internet is accomplished via ISP's wireless (Wi-Fi) network. Local network computers connects to router via wireless Wi-Fi network. SSID - SSID (Service Set Identifier) is a unique wireless network name. Enter the SSID used by the access point wireless service provider with which the router will connect. If the network does not broadcast the SSID, you must manually enter all the parameters. Channel - specify the effective channel (from 1 to 13) of the wireless network. The channel you select must be the same with that of the AP provided by your ISP. 22

23 Security Mode - select the wireless security settings as the settings used by the access point provider. Open scan/close scan - Click Open scan to search for nearby wireless networks and select a service provider's network. If the wireless network is secured, select the type of security in the position Security Mode, then select the algorithm used to secure your network and enter the key / password used by the service provider. Click Apply button, to apply and save your changes. Click Cancel button, to cancel your changes. NOTE: Feature is available only for P6362 and P6363 models. Kontrola przepustowości Traffic control is used to limit communication speed in the LAN and WAN. Up to 20 entries can be supported with the capability for at most 254 PCs' speed control, including for IP address range configuration. 24 Statystyki ruchu Traffic statistics feature allows you to view information about the traffic generated by each device connected to the router. WAN Speed Select the WAN port speed. Click Apply button, to apply and save your changes. Click Cancel button, to cancel your changes. NOTE: Feature is available only for P6362 and P6363 models. 24

25 Ustawienia sieci bezprzewodowej (Wireless Settings) Podstawowe ustawienia sieci bezprzewodowej (Basic wireless network settings) Włącz moduł sieci bezprzewodowej Check to enable the Router s wireless features; uncheck to disable it. You can also press the WPS button to turn on/off the wireless function. Tryb pracy sieci bezprzewodowej select the mode Bezprzewodowy punkt dostępowy (AP) or Most sieciowy WDS (mode is described below). Tryb połączenia sieci bezprzewodowej - Select one mode from the following. The default is Tryb mieszany 11b/g/n. Tryb mieszany 11b/g: Allow the 11b/g-compliant client device to connect with the AP with auto-negotiation speed, and 11n wireless client to connect the device with 11g speed. Tryb 11b: Allow the wireless client to connect with the device in 11b mode at the maximum speed of 11Mbps. Tryb 11g: Allow the 11g/11n-compliant client device to connect with the AP at the maximum speed of 54Mbps. Tryb mieszany 11b/g/n: Allow 11b/g/n-compliant client device to connect with the AP with auto-negotiation speed. Primary SSID - The SSID is the unique name of a wireless access point (AP) to be distinguished from another. For security propose, change to a unique ID name to the AP which is already built-in to the router s wireless interface. It is case sensitive and must not excess 32 characters. Make sure your wireless clients have exactly the same SSID as the device, in order to get connected to your network. Secondary SSID - Additional SSID (Service Set Identifier) of the wireless network. 25

26 Transmituj (SSID) - It is function in which transmits its SSID to the air so that when wireless client searches for a network, router can then be discovered and recognized. Select Wyłącz if you do not want broadcast your SSID. When Wyłącz is selected, no one will be able to locate the Access Point (AP) of your router. When Włącz is selected, you can allow anybody with a wireless client to be able to locate the Access Point (AP) of your router. AP Isolation - once enabled, the computers will not see each other. Applies only to computers connected wirelessly to the router. Kanał - select the channel (frequency) on which wireless network to work. WMM Capable - it will enhance the data transfer performance of multimedia data when they re being transferred over wireless network. It is recommended to enable this option. APSD Capable - it is used for auto power-saved service. The default is disabled. Szerokość pasma kanału - select 20Mhz or 20/40MHz. Most sieciowy (WDS) It is a wireless access point mode that enables wireless link and communication with other access point. It is easy to be installed, simply define the peer s MAC address of the connected AP. WDS takes advantages of cost saving and flexibility which no extra wireless client device is required to bridge between two access points and extending an existing wired or wireless infrastructure network to create a larger network. Select SSID select the wireless network name. Tryb zabezpieczeń function is inactive if the WPS is enabled. Ustawienia WPS - to enable or disable WPS function. The default is Enable. WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setting) can be easy and quick to establish the connection between the wireless network clients and the device through encrypted contents. The users only enter PIN code or press WLAN/WPA button on the panel to configure it without selecting encryption method and secret keys by manual. Tryb WPS provide two ways: PBC (Push-Button Configuration) and PIN code. - PBC - select the PBC or press the WPS button on the back panel of the device for about one second (Press the button for about one second and WPS indicator will be blinking for 2 minutes, which means the WPS is enabled. During the blinking time, you can enable another device to implement the WPS/PBC negotiation between them. Two minutes later, the WPS indicator will be off, which means the WPS connection is completed. If more clients are added, 27

28 repeat the above steps. At present, the WPS supports up to 32 clients access.) - PIN - If this option is enabled, you need to enter a wireless client s PIN code in the field and keep the same code in the WPS client. Zresetuj OOB - when this button is pressed, the WPS client will be idle state, and WPS indicator will be turned off.
