1 West Bengal University of Advertisement for Entrance Examination for Admission to / Applications in prescribed format are invited from eligible Indian citizens FOR ADMISSION TO POST-GRADUATE COURSES IN ENGINEERING AND PHARMACY IN WBUT IN- HOUSE AND COLLEGES AFFLIATED TO WBUT (PGET-2012). Admission will be done through an entrance test (PGET), however, GATE/GPAT qualified candidates are exempted form appearing for the test. The application for admission is to be submitted online at the University website Seat availability, eligibility, procedure for applying, dates for entrance test, counseling and other details can be found form the above website. All important dates are furnished in the appropriate section of this document. Application Brochure will be available online from 12 th April, A scanned passport size photograph to be uploaded while submitting the application form. Candidates who are qualified in GATE/GPAT have to fill in the application form and should send the required documents along with the bank draft. Preference will be given to the GATE/GPAT qualified students with valid score and will be listed accordingly for counseling. Documents To Be Submitted Along With Application Printed (hard copy) filled in Application form duly signed Bank draft of Rs. 500/-(Rs. 250/- for SC/ST/PC Candidates) where on the reverse side of the draft i) Application Number and ii) Applicants name to be written by the candidate. Self attested photocopy of GATE/GPAT score card (For GATE/GPAT qualified candidates only) Self Attested photocopy of the last /latest eligibility qualification certificate/mark-sheet Self attested photocopy of the certificate/document to prove that the candidate is under the reserved category from an appropriate authority valid in the state of West Bengal (For reserved category candidates only) Self attested photocopy of age proof document (birth certificate / admit card / school leaving certificate) The above documents are to be submitted (by post or by hand) to the PGET office at the University after online application submission.

As decided by the West Bengal University of, admission to Post Graduate courses in Engineering / /Pharmacy in such institutes will be as per merit list prepared through PGET followed by counseling. PUBLICATION OF RESULTS 13 th July, 2012 COUNSELING 17 TH July, 2012 ONWARDS ELLIGIBILITY FOR PGET-2012 The eligibility to appear for PGET-2012: a candidate must be a citizen of India having the following qualifications: A relevant AICTE recognized Bachelor s degree in Engineering / /Architecture/ Pharmacy or in the final year* of such programmes. Course wise eligibility requirement is detailed in the following section. * candidates in final year if qualified may be given provisional admission provided that they have to submit their final mark sheet before some prescribed deadline as may be fixed by the PGET Board. Reservations for SC/ST/OBC/PC are as per rules.

3 APPLICATION FORM Candidates intending to appear in PGET-2012 shall have to apply online in the University website ( The application has to be submitted online in the University website and will not be available from any office of the university. SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM The online application form is to be submitted to the university website. The hard copy of the filled in application form duly signed, the demand draft along with required documents has to be sent to the Chairman, PGET Board, West Bengal University of, BF-142, Sector-I, Salt Lake City, Kolkata The bank draft of examination fee should be in favour of the Chairman, PGET Board, West Bengal University of, payable at Kolkata. Application without the prescribed bank draft will not be entertained. There will be no refund of examination fee if the candidate does not appear in PGET ISSUE OF ADMIT CARDS After receipt of the dully filled in application form by the PGET Board it will be reviewed to check eligibility for issuance of admit cards. The admit cards has be downloaded by the candidates. Admit card will contain the information regarding center of examination. In case the candidate does not find his/her name, s/he should contact the PGET office at West Bengal University of Campus, BF-142, Sector-I, Salt Lake City, Kolkata personally along with relevant documents of submission of application form with one copy of colour recent passport size photograph to collect his duplicate admit card from 21 st May to 25 th May ( 11 A.M. 6 MODE OF EXAMINATION The PGET examination consists of a single paper of 2 hour duration which contains 50 questions carrying a total of 100 marks. The question paper will consist of only objective questions of multiple choice type. Each paper shall have a General Aptitude (GA) component carrying 20 marks. There will be negative marking. For every wrong answer half (1/2) mark will be deducted. LEGAL JURISDICTION All disputes pertaining to PGET-2012 shall fall within the jurisdiction of Kolkata only. CAUTION Any selection for admission to / in institutions affiliated to WBUT by-passing the common entrance test conducted by WBUT will be treated as the violation of WBUT academic council decision. The PGET board reserves the right to update the rules time to time if required.
