MCKESSON PROVIDER SYSTEMS Alpharetta, GA April 2011 November 2011 As a Project Manager for Software Upgrades, I was responsible for ensuring the ongoing upgrade of multiple hospitals to current MU certified versions of operational software. 3 COMMUNITY HEALTH SYSTEMS Nashville, TN April 2010 March 2011 Technical Project Manager at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg MS - responsibility was to provide Project Management for all infrastructure aspects of a multi-hospital conversion to McKesson Suite of applications. This 100% travel position leveraged my broad skill set to allow accurate accomplishment of a large task assignment base. Daily interface with all C level and weekly interface with Division VP level staff. As Infrastructure Engineering Project Manager, I was responsible for the full refresh and upgrade of existing desktop, server and network infrastructure, including all wireless technology at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg, MS. Co-manage data center upgrade to accommodate growth to 200 server data center. Used SMS to deploy software, fixes, patches and other pieces as well as to monitor the complete technology environment. Functioned as SME for facility and Corporate deployment of multiple technologies to include scanning, electronic faxing, indexing, portable devices, carts, networking, wireless, data storage and integration. This includes HL7, interfaces, integrations and DB interface. UCLA MEDICAL CENTER Los Angeles, CA April 2009 Dec 2009 As Senior Project Manager I was responsible for the deployment of multiple Healthcare Technology projects, both at the main UCLA Campus in Westwood and the Santa Monica Hospital facilities. Managed up to 8 consecutive projects ranging from additional infrastructure to assessment of and deployment of technology necessary to support new facilities. These included upgrades to network infrastructures and relocation of legacy data centers to main facility. Increased the effectiveness of the Medical IT PMO Office through the use of proven methods of end-to-end management of technology deployment. Completed a number of infrastructure projects, to include all networking, managed Cisco wireless, desktop management, cable management and data retention for multiple operations within the UCLA Medical Center campuses. Designed, test and deployed MS Project Server for the UCLA IT Project Management Office. Redesigned multiple project management processes for the UCLA IT PMO Office. SUMNER MEDICAL GROUP Gallatin, TN January 2003 January 2010 As IT Director I was initially responsible for development of a budget for a 16 physician medical practice. I was responsible for the entire approach to technology including all technology forecasting and work process design. In my additional role of IT Project Manager, I was responsible for an ongoing technology implementation program that optimized clinical and administrative workflows. As Interim Business Office Manager I was responsible for management of all phases of the Revenue Cycle Management encompassing 250 to 300 visits per day. Successfully completed a technology upgrade including Infrastructure, technology, workflow, software vendors, staff training, and support for thin and thick technologies. Managed re-cabling and consolidation of networking infrastructure, including centralization of server closets and network racks and deployment of full Cisco wireless infrastructure. Additionally deployed and interfaced a full Laboratory Information System Completed the deployment and staff training phases of the Practice Management rollout. In applying LEAN analysis to work processes, we mitigated multiple dysfunctional processes for increased efficiencies throughout the practice. Managed a Business Office Staff of 8 full time and 3 part time reports. Resulting in enhanced revenues of 12% annually and an additional 4% revenue to the practice in 2009 Page 3 of 5
4 Implementation of additional Revenue Cycle Management procedures, including insurance negotiation, collections monitoring, 3 rd party billing enhancements and electronic claims processing Selected, hired and trained a fulltime Business Office Manager, which resulted in a planned improvement of 3% in practice revenues HEALTHSPRING / Living Well Health Center Gallatin, TN April 2005 July 2008 Senior Systems Administrator/Technology Project Manager - responsible for all technology involved in support of new Medicare Advantage clinics, including budget development, core Infrastructure, primary software systems, facility design, and clinical workflow designs. Managed the development of all technologies from specification, software selection, workflow design and full deployment of all patient record keeping and financial software including GE Centricity and IDX software. Coordinated the installation of Centricity 2005 in a mixed AIX/Oracle database environment using IBM Hardware. Converted this mix to a single database Centricity solution using SQL. Managed build out of data center in contract co-location facility to accommodate multiple racks of server hardware. Fully deployed all infrastructure technology including Active Directory, Exchange, Citrix, Faxcom server, DiCom servers, Lab interface Servers. MIDSTATE ENT Gallatin, TN April 2004 April 2010 Contract IT Director Responsible for an ongoing technology implementation program. While the practice was confused about the direction their IT Department was headed, I brought clarity to their efforts as we applied standard workflow analysis to the clinical processes. This analysis, combined with my specialized experience in technology acquisition and deployment, allowed the physicians to make a more proactive decision about the direction of their practice. Developed the ongoing technology budget for the practice in order to plan for future growth of the practice both in technology and in workflow and work process design. SERENITY SLEEP CENTER Hendersonville, TN August 2008 April 2010 Technology Consultant Responsible for an ongoing technology implementation program in this new Sleep Center I was brought in to resolve issues with the existing technology when the legacy approach met with serious failure and caused catastrophic failure in production operations. Using the foundational approach of deploying a solid infrastructure prior to attempting to take systems live, we were able to recover the situation in 2 weeks. Recognizing a basic deficiency in training and user adoption, I provided all training and documentation to achieve full adoption in less than 6 weeks. NEPHROLOGY ASSOCIATES Nashville, TN July 2000 October 2005 As the Senior Network Administrator, I was initially charged with stabilizing the Pearl/Emerald EMR environment. In the search for a new EMR product, I successfully developed search protocols, developed an RFP, coordinated the RFP and demo processes, assisted in selection, received and negotiated price quotes. After final selection of the new EMR, I managed the migration of the database and associated processes to the newly selected EMR Product. Simultaneously administered a W2K network of over 200 W2K/XP Workstations and 13 W2K/W2K3 Servers in a 29 location regional environment. Page 4 of 5
5 Relocated the full Data Center to a new location with no loss of service. Supported staff with deployment planning, maintenance projection schemes, budget planning, implementation, and ongoing operations. Deployed and maintained wireless access points, switches, routers and other technology. Deployed W2K/W2K3 servers. Deployed Citrix Servers. DRAUGHON S JUNIOR COLLEGE Nashville, TN January 2002 May 2003 Network Administrator - Responsible for the establishment and ongoing maintenance of multiple Windows 2000 Active Directory domains 6 locations in Kentucky and Tennessee. As Project Manager and Associate Director of Technology I was able to fully deploy infrastructure and base technology for a Windows based Active Directory domain. Personally managed the establishment of regional data centers in Tennessee and Kentucky sufficient to support operations at multiple campuses.
