1 Con$igure Name Servers A Guide to con,iguring name servers on your domain to point to your hosting. The Identity
2 The Identity Why Do I Need to Con,igure my Name Servers? You've done the right thing to buy your domain from one provider and your hosting from another, but your domain (your website,iles) don't sit on your host server yet. You need to point your domain name to your hosting server so that your,iles can be stored and your website accessed! This step can be easily achieved and all changes take up to 48 hours to implement. Please me if you have any problems!
3 The Identity Why Separate my Hosting & Domain? The age old never put your eggs in one basket applies here! If you ever need to change hosting providers it s not so hard when they re separated. Set up your new hosting and redirect your domain. It gets a little more complex when they re in the same place! There s a few more reasons but think of it like insurance. Is insurance absolutely necessary? Not really until something goes wrong or you need something extra that covers you. It s easy to do and there s no material cost difference so it pays to do this!
4 The Identity Quick Steps 1. Log into your domain account at Go Daddy, Crazy Domains, Name Cheap, or Name.com 2. Locate the area in your domain manager where the name servers sit 3. Update your name servers with the server hosting details 4. Con,irm update and you're set! This change may take up to 48 hours to con,igure across the internet We are now ready to design your place on the web! I can t wait!
5 Go Daddy Name Servers Con,igure Name Servers on Go Daddy
6 Go Daddy Name Servers 1. Go to Go Daddy and hit the Log in button.
7 Go Daddy Name Servers 2. A,iled for your username and password will appear. Complete them and proceed to Log In.
8 Go Daddy Name Servers 3. Once you have successfully logged in click on the My Account button.
9 Go Daddy Name Servers 4. Below is your account screen. Click on the Launch button next to Domains to go to your domain manager.
10 Go Daddy Name Servers 5. You will be taken to your domain manager where you can see your domain name. Click on your domain to change the name servers.
11 Go Daddy Name Servers 6. Your current name servers need to be changed so click on Set Nameservers.
12 Go Daddy Name Servers 7. Select the speci,ic nameservers radio button and then paste your hosting name server details in the,irst 2,ields. Proceed by the Ok button.

14 Crazy Domains Name Servers 1. Go to the Crazy Domains website and click on My Account in the top right corner.
15 Crazy Domains Name Servers 2. Click Login under your Domain Name Manager
16 Crazy Domains Name Servers 3. Enter your login credentials to access the domain manager.
17 Crazy Domains Name Servers 4. Navigate to Manage Domains on the left sidebar.
18 Crazy Domains Name Servers 5. You should see your site name here. Click on this. If you aren t able to see this don t stress. You should receive 2 s from Crazy Domains. One con,irming a pending approval and the second con,irming your registration. The second may take up to 24 hours to come through but usually it comes through in less than 12.
19 Crazy Domains Name Servers 6. Once you ve gone into your domain name you will see Update Name Servers on the screen. Click into this.
20 Crazy Domains Name Servers 7. Hit the Delete button for both the current Crazy Domain name servers.
21 Crazy Domains Name Servers 8. Enter your hosting name server details in,ields 1 and 2. The IP address,ield will automatically update. Click Add Name Servers on the bottom of the page.
22 Crazy Domains Name Servers 9. You will now see your name servers have been updated and you will receive a con,irmation .
