Examples are: Hagen-Renaker, Northlight, Lakeshore, Black Horse Ranch, Breyer, Pour Horse Pottery, Beswick, etc. Custom (CM) Glaze China: China/Porcelain/Claybody horses that have been custom glazed and also one-of-a-kind (OOAK) and oneof-a-few factory finished models. (Ex: PS Arabian and B/O Arabian classes) Performance: Appropriate tack and props/obstacles required. -Description cards are required that state what the horse is doing (exceptions: Western Pleasure and English Pleasure). Please limit the size of the description cards to no more than 8.5 x5.5 ( letter sized paper folded in half). -Dolls are not required, although if used they must be positioned correctly or it may count against your entry. -Performance entry setup is a maximum of 18 x30 per entry, but space is limited on the table. -Please keep excessive props at a minimum. 2
3 Performance Judging Criteria: -Models judged on correctness and fit of tack, scale and set up of tack and obstacles, and on model s suitability for the class. -**To allow the performance division to be judged faster, we will be using Dun Discs. Dun Discs will be available at the show and are used to let the judge know whether your entry is completely set up or not. Have the disc with the red side up while setting up your entry and flip it over to the green side to let the judge know that you are done setting up. This will allow the judge to start judging the finished entries while others are still being set up.** Performance Class Definitions: Harness: Vehicle not required. Other Performance: Any realistic performance (tacked up) that does not fit in any other class. Over Fences: Hunter Over Fences, Stadium Jumping, Cross Country, etc. Jump required. English Pleasure: The classes are divided into Sport type breeds and Non-Sport type breeds. Dressage: Test and movement that the horse is performing is required. Western Pleasure: The classes are divided into Stock type breeds and Non-Stock type breeds. Western Pattern Classes: Classes that the horses are judged on a pattern that they perform such as Reining, Western Riding, Horsemanship, etc. Pattern Required. Other Western: Any Western performance that does not fit in the other Western classes. Halter: **Halters not required, but if they are used they must fit correctly or it may count against your entry. It is typically best NOT to use halters in the halter division.** -If you have a breed that is not well known, it is recommended that you provide breed documentation with your model on the show table in the form of a breed description with a picture on a description card no more than 8.5 x5.5 ( letter sized paper folded in half). -No felt squares are to be used to place models on unless they tip over easily and/or must be laid down. In that case they may be laid on felt or other protective material. By laying a model down, you give the judge permission to carefully pick up and inspect the other side of the model. If you do not want the judge to handle your model, please place a note by it and stay relatively close to the show ring so that you can turn the horse over when requested by the judge. If your model is tippy, it is best to lay it down so that it won t possibly fall over and damage other models or itself.
