15 Guidance document: Sample excerpt 1.4 Advisory Committee An advisory committee comprising a broad-based group of pharmacists, faculty, pharmacy technicians, and others as deemed appropriate must be established and meet at least twice a year. The advisory committee must have specific authority for affirming: 1.4.a. the curriculum makes possible the attainment of all educational goals and objectives; 1.4.b. criteria for experiential training sites; 1.4.c. criteria for admission; 1.4.d. criteria for successful completion of the program; and, 1.4.e. the training program s strategic plan. 17 Former Model Curriculum Format Goal 1: Assist the pharmacist in collecting, organizing, and evaluating information for direct patient care, medication use review, and departmental management. OBJ 1.1 (Comprehension) Explain how state laws and regulations determine what activities associated with collection of patient-specific information can be delegated by the pharmacist to technicians. OBJ 1.2 (Application) When presented with a specific patient case, collect pertinent patient information for use by the pharmacist from the medical chart, patient profile or medical record with efficiency and accuracy. IO (Comprehension) Explain the purposes for which pharmacists collect patientspecific information. IO (Comprehension) Explain the categories of patient-specific information pharmacists use in making direct patient care decisions. IO (Knowledge) State the definitions of medical terms commonly used in the range of patient care settings. IO (Knowledge) When given a list of commonly used medical terms, write the accepted abbreviation for each, or when given the abbreviation, write the term.
