The summit is a partnership event involving the United Way and ECSD Superintendent Malcolm Thomas. The theme is "Working Together to Create Student Success," and will operate this year in two sessions, a morning session from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and an afternoon session from 12:30 to 5:00 p.m. The goal of the event is to strengthen connections between the Escambia County School District's guidance counselors and social workers and the many local nonprofit organizations that can provide assistance or services needed by students and their families by giving the school staff information and contacts. The event will also continue the synergy created at the previous summit held last January. Attendance at one of the two sessions is highly recommended.
