4 STELLAR ONLINE LEARNING PROGRAM Our unique and innovative Stellar Learning Online Program has been designed for students needing the flexibility to access their study remotely rather than attending on campus. DIPLOMA IN BEAUTY THERAPY SIB50110 This comprehensive and highly acknowledged qualification within the industry provides the skills, knowledge and experience to be a professional beauty therapist and industry leader. The new My Ella Baché student learning portal provides students with an interactive approach to blended learning. Students can access the theory components and learning materials online but also have the opportunity to attend 6 practical workshops throughout the Diploma, where they ll improve their skills learning from our team of professional Beauty Trainers. INTENSIVE PRACTICAL WORKSHOPS You ll achieve your Beauty Diploma with the Stellar Online Learning Program in just 2 years*, with the course duration divided into 6 trimesters, each with a compulsory practical workshop component. The practical workshops provide students with the opportunity to learn and be assessed on the full range of treatment options and services found in commercial salons such as waxing, facials, hand and foot care and massage. Students can choose where they wish to do their Practical Intensive Workshops in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane. It is important to note that students are expected to practise on each other during these workshops. It is an essential part of the learning experience that students perform practical treatments on each other druing these workshops. This enables them to experience the philosophy of beauty therapy, to feel and understand what is being experienced by customers and to engage in the intimate communication experience between therapist and client. This will always be practised in accordance with industry codes of practice and ethics. A range of assessments are also conducted at the workshops including written assessments. * Students may apply for a deferment for a maximum of 12 months which is subject to college approval. WORK EXPERIENCE All students are required to complete 150 hours of work experience in a commercial salon environment. This will enable students to gain invaluable practical experience and is a mandatory requirement of the qualification. Work experience can be undertaken at any salon; it is not a requirement that work experience be completed at an Ella Baché salon. Please note: Ella Baché salons are independently owned and operated; as such, not all salons can support Stellar Distance Learners with work experience and job placement.

6 STELLAR LEARNING 2015 COURSE: Diploma of Beauty Therapy COURSE CODE: SIB50110 COURSE COMMENCEMENT: February May September FEE: $16,800 LENGTH OF COURSE: 24 months* * Students may apply for a deferment for a maximum of 12 months which is subject to college approval. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Minimum age of entry is 16 years Minimum educational requirement: Successful completion of year 10 or equivalent except in the case of mature aged students (over 21 years of age) Students should be able to access a computer with internet Note: The above fees are confirmed exclusively for the 2015 enrolment period. Travel and accommodation for workshops GETTING STARTED IN THE DIPLOMA OF BEAUTY THERAPY The Diploma of Beauty Therapy enrolment requires a non-refundable deposit of $1000 for non-vet FEE HELP students, to secure a place in the Stellar Online Learning Program. Units are individually priced and can be purchased in consecutive order for non-vet FEE HELP students. Please consult your Course & Careers Advisor for a unit cost breakdown. Alternatively, the VET FEE-HELP government loan is available to assist eligible domestic students to pay their full tuition fees prior to the commencement of the course.
