2 ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY The Central University of Rajasthan (CURAJ) was established by an Act of Parliament in 2009 (Act No. 25 of 2009, The Gazette of India, No. 27, published on 20th March, 2009) and is fully funded by the Government of India. Located in more than 500 acre of land at Bandarsindri near Kishangarh, Rajasthan. The University is committed and dedicated to provide quality and affordable education to all the classes of society since last six years. The CURAJ aspires to be one of India s most dynamic and vibrant universities, responsive to the changing global trends, providing unparalleled educational opportunities for the learner community especially for those coming from the lower socio-economic strata of society seeking quality education. All the programmes are designed in such a manner that it leads to the implementation of the theme which is EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT as sustainable development strategies give nation around the world the ability to achieve positive economic and social development without excess environmental degradation, in a way that protects the rights and opportunities of coming generations. It offers five year integrated (MA, M.Sc.), postgraduate (M.A. /M.Sc. /M.Com. /MBA / MTech) and research programs leading to Ph.D. Admissions to all programmes which are based on CUCET (Central Universities Common Entrance Test). Details about the Central University of Rajasthan can be found on the University website ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT The department of Statistics was established in June 2009 under the School of Mathematics, Statistics & Computational Sciences, with an innovative Masters level programme in Statistics with specialization in Actuarial Science & Finance. In 2013, Department has started 5 years integrated MSc (Statistics). Department is also offering PhD programme as per the theme of the University and recruited faculties in the area of Time Series, Inference, Sampling, Statistical Quality Control, Reliability Analysis, Stochastic Processes, Finance, and Insurance etc. There are at present 1 Professor, 1 Associate Professor and 6 Assistant Professors. Department is actively participating in research and extension activity and training the nearby villagers about the new developments in banking and finance. Also faculty and researchers are publishing research papers in reputed journals and participating in conferences in India and abroad. Alumni of the department are working in reputed organizations like SWISS Re, Edelwise Tokyo, KPMG, Sri Ram Finance, WNS Consultancy, The Rain Man Consultancy, Max Life Insurance, AON Hewitt Actuarial Consultancy, Nelson Private Ltd. Etc. The faculty have been active in executing research projects in collaboration with UGC, CSIR, and MOSPI etc. The Department has organized national conferences, workshops, training programmes etc. from 2012 onwards.

3 AIM OF THE CONFERENCE Statistical modelling seems to be the most acceptable field of data analytics which is integrating data interpretations through modelling, analytics and time series. Statistics is the science which provides the analytical platform to understand the data to optimize the resources as well as increase its usability. Now time series and analytics are the most accepted areas in Statistics and the present conference is planned to explore the opportunities through the discussions to be held during the conference under the theme the present through past for future demands We expect good number of manuscripts and suggestions for new thoughts on time series, analytics in special reference to statistical modelling. OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUNG RESEARCHERS There will be 2 separate sessions for Young Researchers and Faulty/scientists in which two awards will be presented, one for Research Scholars and other for young scientists/faculties who are working and below 35 years. This will be decided by judges based on the content of manuscript and presentation. Those who wish to participate in this competition have to send full papers by to conference.stats@curaj.ac.in and copy (CC) to jitendravkarma@curaj.ac.in on or before August 15, Papers will be evaluated & shortlisted for presentation.
