5 5 Some overall global facts Use of fossil energy per year = 1 million years of fossilisation 75 % of used energy is lost Fossil energy is and will be dominant in the world until 2050 Historically 80 % of CO2-emission come from developed countries Global emission of CO2 (2008) is 50 billion ton, and still growing... To avoid global warming of more than 2 o Celcius we have a global CO 2 budget of 950 billion tons left... less than 20 years ERGO: A rapid change and paradigm shift is needed, technique is available... but who would pay for it? ( Global annual military budget is around billion dollars!)

Deliver necessary holistic information Launch insights for local stakeholders and private actors Put clear climate goals on the agenda necessary as framework for targeted actions within different sectors Act as co-ordinator and catalyst ot make things happen... e.g. Integration of district heating systems, new wind farms, biomass import, refurbishing big housing estates, biogas facilities, etc. Promote public transport and work for a trend shift of road transport (e.g. congestion charge system) Support the public sector as fore runner within own sphere/projects, critical purchaser, rule maker
