School Management Organisation: The development of our school is under the leadership of the Principal and the School Executive Council. The school policy is implemented by different committees. The important committees in our school include: Administration Committee, Academic Committee, Discipline Committee, Counselling Committee, Career and Future Studies Committee, Students' Activities Committee, Students' Welfare Committee, General Affairs Committee, Civic Education Committee, Science Development Committee and Information Technology Development Committee. Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee/ Management Committee: Incorporated Management Committee was established in School Green Policy: We pay great importance on school green policy. Environmental Protection Ambassador Scheme is heavily promoted in our school. There is a greenhouse in our school to let students understand the importance of environmental protection. Learning and Teaching Plan Whole-school Language Policy: English is used as the main medium of for some of the classes in our school. In order to enhance students' English ability and maximize their exposure to the language, our school has launched the Extended English Learning Programme on Saturdays. In addition to promoting English learning in our school, Japanese Education, which has been extended to the senior forms, has also become one of our highlights. Students will sit for University of Cambridge International Examinations, an examination recognized by local universities as one of the entrance requirements, when they are in F6. Learning and Teaching Strategies : Actively carry out school based subjects: apart from the normal subjects, our school developed many school based subjects such as Life Planning and Social Studies, Japanese Language Studies, Computer 3D Animation, Value Education, English Literature and Economics and Commerce. We believe that these subjects can spread good messages to all schools in Hong Kong as they set a good example and serve as positive indicators.we provide multi-talent and pioneer subjects in order to educate our students morally, mentally, aesthetically and physically. We are fully devoted to developing the "high-order thinking" and "whole-life learning" ability of students. Through various teaching methods, we aim to enhance students' academic ability. We conduct Chinese, English, Mathematics and Liberal Studies lessons in small classes in order to cater for individual differences.we have enhancement and supplementary classes. School-based Curriculum: 1. Electives: 2X and 3X. Please refer to our website. 2. Curriculum highlights: Life Planning and Social Studies for Junior Forms, Japanese Language, Computer 3D Animation, Economics and Commerce, English Literature Development of Key Tasks : 1. We devotedly promote learning through reading and we have reading programs organized by language teachers led by academic committee. 2. To correspond with the Policy Address, STEM education is emphasized in our school in order to foster students' learning in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. 3. We actively encourage students to conduct project learning and some of their outstanding works even represent Hong Kong to compete with other countries. Life Planning: Life planning and Social Studies has been launched in Junior Forms so that students can better master lifelong planning skills. Student Support Whole School Approach to Catering for Student Diversity: A Learning Support Team has been set up to cater for learner's diversity. For core subjects (Chinese, English, Mathematics and Liberal Studies), small class teaching has been implemented. There are also after-school elite and remedial classes to support students' learning. Measures to provide adaptation for Learning and Assessment: Apart from four formal exams per year, students' classroom performance and the submission of their project works are also two important factors in assessing students' academic performance. 4 Home-School Co-operation and School Ethos Home-School Co-operation: In order to build a closer tie between teachers and students, our Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) actively participates in activities of all kinds both inside and outside school. Over the past years, the PTA has been organising tea sessions for students going to sit for the public examination as to show our genuine support to them. School Ethos: The school's ethos is made manifest in the discipline, industry and commitment which characterize our students. We focus highly on counselling and discipline. For example, teachers patrol inside school during the lunch and recess time and students are restricted to stay at school for lunch. Our Counselling Committee always cooperates with social workers and holds different kinds of activities for students. Future Development School Development Plan: 1. To nurture positive school culture in a 3 year plan. The focus on last year are kindness and grateful. The focus this year are discipline. 2. To enhance students' learning effectiveness, improve their results in public examinations and provide students with quality teaching through diversified teaching methods. 3. To arouse students' motivation and interest in learning and teach them how to grasp effective learning methods. 4. To boost students' confidence through encouraging students to participate in various competitions. 5. To enhance students' sense of belonging through consolidating different student organisations. 6. To promote multi-media learning. 7. To participate actively in different academic and non-academic competitions such as music, sports, speech and dancing. Teacher Professional Training and Development : We encourage our teachers to further their studies and join all activities which will enhance their professionalism. Thus, teachers are provided with enough time to attend seminars, workshops and talks for these purposes. Extra-curricular/Co-curricular Activities We aim to provide students with a wide range of activities in order to help them build a positive view in life, enhance their creativity, leadership and communication skills. For achieving the goals, we actively develop activities based on sports, art, academic themes and community service. Until now, the four houses--"erudition, Propriety, Commitment and Honesty", forty one school clubs, eight uniform groups and the Student Union have been fully developed. School Facilities School Facilities: Student Activity Centre, Counselling Room, Language Laboratory, Computer Room, English Corner, 3D Animation Production Centre, Olympiad Mathematics Training Centre, Integrated Science Laboratory, Chemistry Laboratory, Biology Laboratory, Physics Laboratory, Greenhouse, Multi-function Room, Library, Multi Function Lecture Theatre. Facility Support for Students with Special Educational Needs: SEN Supporting Team has been set up with a series of comprehensive supporting plans devised.. Others 1. Students' performance in HKDSE is highly satisfactory. The number of students meeting the university entry requirement has been continuously exceeding other schools' in Hong Kong. 2. 5G Shum Chung Pan, Ty has been awarded with the Champion of Yuen Long District Outstanding Student Election and the Most Outstanding Student of New Territories. 3. Our school attaches great importance on English Learning. Students won championships in various English debating contests including 16th NESTA-SCMP Debating Competition, Science Alive Debating Competition and Flashpoint Debating Tournament In the 30th China Adolescents Science & Technology Invention Contest, our school was awarded three prizes namely the Best Ten Science and Technology School Award, the Best Ten Science and Technology Teacher Award and the Highest Honour prize for students. 5. Our F.4 students were awarded the championship in Space Science Experiment Design Competition for Hong Kong Secondary School. Students' proposed experiment method is recommended to be performed by the Chinese astronauts under zero gravity condition in the space laboratory of Heavenly Palace II 6. Our school is one of the eight selected partner schools in the Enriched IT class Programme.
