And conidering of contemporary art having a lot of preure, they are taking a poition of De Brakke Grond a an intermediary between ociety and artit. While Leen Laconte, Director of De Brakke Grond, alo think that art and Performance hould be more acceible for public.flemih culture which i not yet preented in big theater or mueum. Baed on thi opinion, I think a pace for contemporary art and performance hould be open enough for people to approach; flexible enough for artit to play or diplay their work; and big enough for lar cale art. Which mean an open-air quare or courtyard will be a n cho. Thee theater are keeping a cooperative relationhip (learn from Leen Laconte, Director of De Brakke Grond). But maybe becaue of the land tenion of inner city, there no open-air pace for them. So if there need one, De Brakke Grond i the only one could provide, becaue the area i big enough. Thi pace hould be an experimental plat allow viitor to enter freely, and it not only for De Brakke Grond but alo for other theater on Ne or even the whole city, becaue uch an open-air pace i carce in the inner city of Amterdam. My original intention of the patial organization i a half ring-haped building with an open air pace in the center, which I call it a an open-air experimental plat. CAFE I ue nearly 1/3 of the whole area a the open-air pace. Beide, there are ome part have only one floor, o the roof could alo ued a part of the open-air ytem. I try to create more type of public pace in thi building. For intance a quare in the corner of treet; a courtyard in the middle of building; roof plat on another level to make the whole pace lively. About the building typology, I chooe imple clean box-like hape of the main part, and then it could achieve a monumental feeling tother with the gla façade. Although the building i not open patially, but it alway open viually. About the open-air public part, it i more cloe to human cale compared to the main building part. I try to create a lively and active atmophere with a chanceful patial organization in thi pace, becaue I want to make thi place could attract different artit to diplay their work or act in their own way.
