Study Periods & Important Dates
Study Periods The year is divided into two main study periods: Study Period 1: 23 February 19 June (2015) Study Period 2: 27 July 20 November (2015) Plus several shorter study periods (SP SP11) Each Study Period has a census date!!
Census dates Why are they important? Census date is the date on which a student s enrolment in a subject is taken to be finalised (changes after this date will incur a financial and an academic penalty) Find out more:
Important dates
Census dates You have some time to finalise your subjects
Census dates Important things to remember: Every study period has its own census date It is your responsibility to keep track of these
Subjects
Subjects Subjects are available in different study periods, attendance modes and locations Attendance modes include: Internal (on campus, Study Period 1 and 2) External (flexible delivery) Block Limited (part face to face, part external) Most common in CMES
Block-mode subjects These are days intensive subjects (all day, sometimes including weekends). Assignments are usually due after the contact period.

AQ5009:03 is a level 5 (postgraduate) subject. The two digits after the colon indicate the credit points AQ5009:03 is a 3 credit point subject. Most subjects are 3 credit points.
Subjects Some subjects require assumed knowledge. This is knowledge you should already have to successfully complete a subject but is not a formal pre-requisite. Your coordinator will help assess these at your meeting based on your previous studies.
Always read and consult with your coordinator if in doubt
