6 Meet Atlas Professionals The role of a Survey Party Chief is very diverse; you have to know your technical stuff while at the same time being able to communicate with and work with your team, the vessel team, the ROV team and of course the Client. When people ask me what I do offshore, I tell them we are a very special TomTom for underwater building projects. When they look at me blankly, I tell them to go and watch Titanic and that we use robots like those on the film to do a lot of technical plumbing on the seabed! What I like about survey is that what we do seems hugely technical and complicated but at the end of the day it all boils down to giant plumbing and navigation. Joanne Davies Party Chief
