1 POWERSTOCKS INVESTMENT RESEARCH NEW ONLINE TOOLS, CHARTS & ALERTING FOR 2014/15

2 During the course of 2014, PowerStocks Research spent significant time (9 months) and money converting all their tools, reports and charts from static downloadable reports to real-time online tools with automatic notifications. This document summarizes the major changes made. 1. DASHBOARD This is an innovative at-a-glance view of the macro-health of the market (are we in a bull or bear market) shown in the left pane and short term technical (are we in an uptrend or a downtrend) shown in the right hand pane. When viewing this dashboard you can click on any component to go to a more detailed online chart specific to that component. You can view a short video on the use of the Dashboard over here. 2. CONFIGURABLE ALERTING You can set customizable SMS and alerts for any of the 31 charts and quantitative trading models we maintain. The status of these is shown in the PowerALERT tab. In here ALL alerts are shown on the right panel and YOUR specific alerts you are interested in is shown in the center panel. You can view the detailed PowerALERT user guide here. Clicking on the names of the charts in this view takes you directly to the detailed charts.

3 Nightly summaries of all your custom alerts that were triggered are sent to you via and clicking on the blue headings of the chart in the takes you directly to the charts in question: 3. TRADING MODELS The famous mechanical JSE Index market-timing models that made us stand-out from the rest since 2009 are now all available in dynamic online charts that are updated each day. The charts can be zoomed, panned or viewed from any time frame stretching back 6 years to show past performance of the BUY and SELL signals

4 4. ALERT INFO EMBEDDED IN CHARTS All charts have an ALERT icon (yellow triangle) which when clicked, will show which alerts triggered the previous day. Charts that have alerts that have JUST triggered will have their tabs colored in RED as displayed below: 5. HIGHLY GRANULAR LEVEL OF CONFIGURABLE ALERTING For each of the 31 charts, models and trading strategies we maintain, you can select highly granular sets of alerts to suit your particular preferences and risk profile. Each alert can be further explained by clicking on i icons next to them to explode the description so you can determine if the alert is important to you or not. 5 6. HELP INFO EMBEDDED IN CHARTS The charts also have info buttons giving detailed introduction to what it is you are viewing: 7. CHART GROUPINGS Charts are grouped for easy access into TRADES (For trading strategies), MACRO (for macroeconomic details), TROUGH (for trough or bottom-finding models telling you when to buy in the dips) or JBAR (for market breadth charts), SECTORS (for our sector timing models) and SEASON (for our seasonality timing models) You can jump to these at time by pulling down the chart selector function:

TUTORIALS, USER GUIDES AND TRAINING VIDEOS A legend appears on the top of all charts showing if there is additional information, videos or PDF user guides available for the chart/system/model you are viewing: Alternatively all the training material and user-guides are available in a central repository in the RESOURCES menu. There are over 15 training and demonstration videos totaling over 3 hours: Clicking on any of the Video links highlighted in red above will open a viewer with all the relevant chapters of the topic which you can stream online with the provided video player, or download to your PC for later and/or repeated viewing:

7 9. INTRADAY CHARTS Various intraday charts are now available including a SA first, namely SA breadth (advance/decline, volume up/down, value up/down) updated intraday. Update intervals are 1 and 5 minutes: 10. ONLINE SHARE PICKING (JSW) JSE Share Watchlist (JSW-online) is now an online tool that is used to find JSE share trading or investing candidates at the click of a button. Over 20 new enhanced automation functions have been introduced with sophisticated screening capability to find the best investment grade shares or short term trading candidates: You can read about JSW from the Introductory User Guide and to see how PowerStocks clients find trading opportunities within 2 minutes each morning, you can view this short 5min video.

8 JSW also has built in portfolio management for your Trading account and your Investment account and your Watchlist. This tracks data that none of the online brokerages track such as time held, compound annual growth of the trade (%PA), comments etc. All your share disposals are tracked for performance monitoring purposes, something else the online brokerages do not offer you. We plan to use this data to offer you detailed performance reporting on your trading activity such as % winners and losers, gain/loss ratios etc. You have instant access to your investment portfolio, short term trading portfolio or your Watchlist from MY PORTFOLIO buttons in the JSW control panel keypad. There is also a SELL key which reveals any shares you won that have broken their trailing stops you have set for them.

9 11. INTEGRATED CHARTING IN JSW Charting tools have been integrated directly into JSW to display any set of shares or candidates shown by JSW. JSW Online now offers sophisticated integrated Java charting for analyzing shares on its screens beyond 1-6 years back. You can select from over 50 popular technical indicators. Clicking on the charts button in JSW automatically loads any shares remaining on your screen after screens and filters you have been running, and populates them in the JAVA chart list for you so you can step through the charts of all your buy candidates to do your final visual inspections: JSW Online also offers a purpose-built integrated QUICKCHARTING module designed specifically for mobile phones and tablets. Clicking on the charts button in JSW automatically loads any shares remaining on your screen after screens and filters you have been running, and populates them in the chart list for you so you can step through the charts of all your buy candidates to do your final visual inspections: Both charts allow you to cycle through candidate lists, eliminating those that are undesirable until you have your final shortlist. The QUICKCHART allows you to add shares to your portfolios directly from the chart display list. All the important support and resistance lines for traders (stops and targets) are also shown on the QuickCharts.

SOCIAL TRADING FUNCTIONS JSW also offers Social Trading data so you can see each day : TOP INVESTED : Top-5 shares appearing in our subscribers' investment portfolios on JSW TOP TRADED : Top-5 shares appearing in our subscribers' trading portfolios on JSW TOP WATCHED: Top-5 shares appearing in our subscribers' watch lists on JSW TOP DISPOSED : Top-5 shares appearing in our subscribers' disposed lists on JSW RECENT PURCHASES: Top-5 shares added to our subscribers' JSW portfolios in last 7 days RECENT SALES : Top-5 shares sold from our subscribers' JSW portfolios in last 7 days This is shown in the first 6 blocks in the TAPE function; the other blocks show interesting real time information such as value leaders up and down, new high s and lows etc. You can click on any table heading to automatically load any of the shares displayed in it into your JAVA Chart and your QuickCHART. In the QuickCharts, you will notice a new LIKE icon which applies to the share currently showing in the chart. While you are going through your elimination process in QuickCharts you will undoubtedly settle on a few finalists which you can save to you "Like-list" by clicking on the thumbs-up icon. You can keep using this function among multiple QuickCharts to build up your "like-list" for the day. For example you run the pre-wired GREEN SHOOTS screen and load the candidates into QuickCharts and find only 1 share you like from this list. You can "like" the share and go back to the WATCHLIST and run one of your own pre-programmed filters and load all of those candidates into the QuickChart for another elimination process. Let s say you find 3 shares here you like. You click on the like button for them and they are added to the original share you liked from the GREENSHOOTS screen. This way you can run multiple screens and build up your "like-list". After you have "liked" a share, you will not be able to "like" it again. This avoids duplicates from appearing in your like-list and the community like-list. Your "like-list" remains in place until JSW is republished, around 8:30pm in the evenings, after which it is cleared for the following day. You can load all your "liked" shares into the WATCHLIST at any time by clicking on the LIKE button on the JSW control panel. The 5 most liked shares among all JSW-Online users for the day will appear in a "community like-list" under the "LIKED TODAY" table at the beginning of this page. PowerStocks Research will be adding their own LIKES each evening or morning before the market opens and this essentially "seeds" the community like-list each day. So you have a way with one-click ease to see what the community thinks are the best trading candidates for the day.
