Second-leading scorer, Jovany Decues, completed the fall semester averaging 13 points per game, but has been ruled academically ineligible. Webber is a member of The Sun Conference, which is also home to Ave Maria. The Eagles defeated Ave Maria earlier this year, FGCU has the 4th-best 3-point percentage defense in the nation, holding opponents to just.262 from beyond the arc. 3 LOCKING IN ON Infographic Game Notes Last year, FGCU tied a single-season program record by holding 13 opponents to 60 points or fewer in a game. Since Joe Dooley took over the FGCU program in , FGCU has held 25 teams to 60 points or fewer. The Sweet 16 team in also held 13 teams to 60 points or fewer, but prior to that in five seasons of Division-I history FGCU teams had only held opponents to 60 points or less 20 times. In 2+ years under Dooley, the Eagles are 32-4 when holding opponents below 40% from the floor.32 1 GOLDEN SUMMER Julian DeBose won a gold medal as part of Team USA at the World University Games (WUG) this summer in South Korea... was one of only two players (SMU s Nic Moore) on the team not from Kansas University... finished the tournament averaging 4 points, 2.3 rebounds and 10.8 minutes per contest... scored a team-high 18 points in the USA s final group-round game against Switzerland... connected on 50 percent (13-26) of his shots from the floor during the WUG, including 3-8 from 3-point range... added nine offensive and nine defensive rebounds, with the nine offensive boards representing the second-most by any guard on the roster... also contributed six steals and a block as Team USA won its games by an average of 20.3 points. NATION S ELITE FGCU is one of only 46 teams in the country that has won 20+ games in each of the past three seasons. That total matched all the single-digit turnover games in the Eagles entire pre-division-i history, spanning five seasons from In , FGCU had six single-digit turnover games, as through Dooley s first 2+ years in charge of the Eagles, they have secured 17 of the program s 23 all-time single-digit turnover games in the D-I era (since 2007). Last year, FGCU s Brett Comer finished the season ranking 2nd in the same category at 45.9 percent FGCU is at Alico Arena since Seven of those 10 losses have come since the start of the season. FGCU is 7-3 at home this year, was 13-4 last year, went 15-2 in and 15-1 in Versus foes during the regular season since , FGCU is 23-2 at The Nest. True freshman Reggie Reid was named Newcomer of the Week on Nov. 23 as he ranks 6th in the league with 4 assists per game and has already turned in a pair of nine-assist performances to go along with an 18-point outing versus Youngstown State. Redshirt freshman Zach Johnson scored a career-best 26 points against Bowling Green in which he shot from the floor, with the.846 shooting percentage ranking as the sixth-best single-game performance in program history. Johnson is 12th in the with a.485 field goal percentage (49-101). Reid (60) and Johnson (43) lead FGCU in assists. 6 @FGCU_MBB Infographic Game Notes BERNARDTHOMPSON REPLACING THE BACKCOURT This year, FGCU is replacing the graduated backcourt duo of Bernard Thompson and Brett Comer. The two standouts rank first and second, respectively, on the program s all-time scoring list as their 3,312 combined points accounted for 19 percent of FGCU s total D-I points (17,641) upon their graduation. Additionally, the two combined for 1,091 assists 35 percent of the program s D-I assists (3,075), as Comer (845) himself was responsible for 27 percent of the Eagles all-time D-I assists. BRETTCOMER Comer graduated ranking 24th on the all-time NCAA list for career assists. Thompson, meanwhile, was the only player in the NCAA (any division) last year who had at least 1,800 career points, 600 career rebounds and 250 career steals. Fueled by their high-flying Dunk City attack, the Eagles won their final two such games in , were 12-0 when holding at least a +15 margin in the paint in , 11-0 in , 4-1 last year (regular-season finale vs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 38-22) and is 2-0 so far in Redshirt senior Filip Cvjeticanin is the only remaining member of FG- CU s historic run to the Sweet 16 in Then a sophomore, Cvjeticanin played just 12 total minutes in the Eagles three NCAA Tournament games and did not score. The sharp-shooter would have graduated last year but he had back surgery and utilized a redshirt year during the campaign. Additionally, assistant coach Michael Fly, now in his fifth year with the Eagles, is the only remaining coach who was on staff as FGCU became the only No. 15 seed in NCAA Tournament history to advance to the Sweet 16. #DunkCity

The average high school GPA of admitted students in the fall of 2013 was 3.37, and that increased to 3.71 in the fall of >>> The university s fundraising office doubled its number of alumni donors in a year. >>> The Athletic Department posted a record $4.4 million in external revenues during the 2015 fiscal year, up from $4.2 million in 2014 and a significant jump from only $3.1 million in 2013 prior to the run to the Sweet 16. >>> Over the past two seasons, FGCU has totaled 145,670 fans at Alico Arena.
