1 Accredited training courses for Annual report The Commission for Occupational Safety and Health criteria for accreditation require each provider of an accredited training course for to submit an annual report on the delivery of courses for the year ending the preceding 30 June. Consolidated information from providers of introductory training courses has been used to complete the tables and figures below. How many were trained in the period covered by this report? Table 1: Gender Number Male 2727 Female 1257 Not stated 131 Total 4115 In , 30 registered training organisations were accredited to provide the introductory training course. The maximum number of representatives trained in a single organisation was 1034 and the minimum number was three. Two accredited organisation provided nil training.

2 Figure 1: Male Female Gender not stated Total participants The number of trained has decreased by per cent from 4965 in , to 4115 in This demonstrates the second year reduction (6.1 per cent decrease) in the number of representatives trained over the previous five years. 2

Figure 3: Metropolitan Non-metropolitan Total In total, 430 introductory training courses were conducted of which per cent were provided in the non-metropolitan area. The non-metropolitan group size (mean = persons) tends to be larger than the metropolitan counterpart (mean = 5.69 persons). 4

In , under the WorkSafe jurisdiction, the ANZSIC group electricity, gas, water and waste services had the highest number of trained per 1000 workers (9.0 persons). Whereas rental, hiring and real estate services (0.3 persons), wholesale trade (0.4 persons) and retail trade (0.4 persons) had the lowest representative trained per 1000 workers. 6
