These pages will also walk you through correctly configuring the use of DHCP on a Windows 9x workstation. Network traffic can be reduced by disabling sharing, and here is how. 3 DCSD - Win95 - Workgroup Change Step-by-Step Configuration (Picture Mode) Place a check mark in the "Log on to Windows NT domain" box. Type in your appropriate workgroup/domain name in the "Windows NT domain:" text box and press the "OK" button. Go Back Go To The Beginning [7/16/2001 5:51:40 PM]
4 DCSD - Win95 - Workgroup Change Step-by-Step Configuration (Picture Mode) Click on the "Identification" tab. Modify the "Workgroup:" item to say your appropriate workgroup/domain name. Modify the "Computer name:" so it begins with your workgroup/domain name and click "OK". 12 DCSD - Win95 - DHCP TCP/IP Configure - Step-by-Step Configuration (Text Mode) 1) Is the system powered/turned on? 1.1) If not: Turn System On. 1.2) Choose "Cancel", or press the "Esc" key to skip logon screen. 2) Right mouse click "Network Neighborhood", and Choose "Properties" with the left mouse button 3) Highlight "TCP/IP" and Click "Properties" 4) Confirm that the "IP Address" tab is selected.
