Built the largest-ever longitudinal dataset of incubated businesses, incubators, and a matched control group of non-incubated businesses. The overarching purpose of this course is twofold, corresponding to the distinct implications suggested by the words social and entrepreneurship. On the one hand, the course aims to examine how entrepreneurial skills and practices can be applied in not-for-profit and governments settings. On the other hand, the course explores how efforts to tackle social problems and address a society s unmet needs create entrepreneurial opportunities. The course teaches students how to create sustainable ventures that create economic and social value simultaneously. Assisted in the development of a revamped curriculum, prepared and delivered several lectures, and supervised student projects. XII. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Program Associate Central New York Community Foundation 2004 to 2005 Syracuse, New York Provided strategic management consulting to Syracuse s arts council on a long-term plan for building an economically sustainable arts industry in the city. Consulted on business and nonprofit management with Syracuse s symphony, opera, theater, and art museum. Designed and implemented organization s strategic communications plan. Oversaw grants management and fundraising efforts. Program Assistant Charles Stewart Mott Foundation 2000 to 2002 Flint, Michigan Wrote grant recommendations for management approval, reviewed and researched grant proposals, conducted site visits to evaluate project implementation, and participated in meetings of grantmakers to discuss funding priorities.
