2 NEW Military Connection A dynamic web portal within which veterans, service members, and their families can connect with services intended to assist them in connecting with education and employment related resources. NEW Military.com A membership portal within which veterans, service members, and their families can connect to a variety of benefits and services. NEW mycalvet The California Department of Veteran Affairs launched a fresh new webportal in April of 2014 that allows veterans, veteran family members, advocates, service providers, and educational institutions to build profiles that can be searched and mapped based on the needs and preferences of the user. National Education, Advocacy and Training, Inc., (NEAT) Mission statement from website: A solution that is motivated by community spirit made of community participants and embodies the ideals of an American community where neighbors help neighbors. National Education, Advocacy, and Training, Inc. (NEAT) is a non profit organization. It certifies, facilitates and oversees InVITE alliances between funding sources, government agencies, civic organizations, private employers, educators and job placement organizations. First and foremost these managed community based alliances are formed to create the solution jobs. With the creation of local employment opportunities everything else easily falls into place. The NEAT InVITE alliances can then access funding to help provide education and training for the gainful employment of its citizens, payroll reimbursements for employers and more. The homes provided by Homes for Our Troops are given at NO COST to the Veteran. Giving Back for Homes: Reimbursement assistance, up to $2,500, for costs related to purchasing a home. PTSD PTSD COACH MOBILE AP Teams at VA s National Center for PTSD < and DoD s National Center for Telehealth and Technology < have collaborated to create a mobile phone application (app) to help Veterans and Service Members who have, or may have PTSD. The app, PTSD Coach, provides users with education about PTSD, information about professional care, a self assessment for PTSD, opportunities to find support, and tools that can help with managing the stresses of daily life with PTSD. Military Transition Assistance Advisors National Toll Free Number U.S. Army Warrior Transition Command The U.S. Army established Warrior Transition Units (WTUs) at major military treatment facilities located around the world. WTUs provide personal support to wounded Soldiers who require at least six months of rehabilitative care and complex medical management.
