Taught in Summer 2014 and in Summer 2015 IMMERSE Mentor As an IMMERSE teaching assistant I worked with the analysis instructor and other teaching assistants on planning lectures, understanding and teaching a research paper, and mentoring students about to begin graduate school in math. I also held office hours and marked homework. Mentor for First-Year Teaching Assistants (University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Fall 2009) In this position, I visited the recitations of all first-time teaching assistants in the Mathematics Department, evaluated the presentations, and then met with them individually to discuss their teaching. Additionally, I held a meeting for all of the beginning teaching assistants to discuss their experiences in the classroom and share ideas. I also led a recitation for a Calculus I class. Instructor Duties include complete responsibility for class lectures, writing and grading quizzes, tests (except for unit final exams when appropriate), and, at times, projects, holding office hours and assigning final grades.
