Controlling of goods at Zurich Airport Governmental regulations require controlling of goods delivered into the security-restricted area at Zurich Airport. Companies that meet our defined security requirements and have acquired the Known Supplier status are exempt from these controls Known Supplier concept at Zurich Airport
EU Regulation 185/2010 Art Airport supplies shall be screened before being allowed into security restricted areas, unless security controls have been applied to the supplies by a known supplier and the supplies have been protected from unauthorized interference from the time that those controls were applied until they are taken into the security restricted area Known Supplier concept at Zurich Airport
Known Supplier concept By being exempt from cargo security controls, Known Supplier companies are freed from additional controls and the associated waiting times (except random checks). To be able to profit from this optimized delivery of goods, your company has to commit to certain predefined security requirements Known Supplier concept at Zurich Airport
Security requirements for Known Suppliers Appointing a person responsible for security A Known Supplier must appoint at least one person in the company to be in charge of security. This person is the key contact for the implementation of the required measures and processes for Flughafen Zürich AG and the responsible authorities. Personnel changes for this function must be reported to Flughafen Zürich AG in due time. The appointed person must complete the compulsory E- Learning program Known Supplier concept at Zurich Airport
Security requirements for Known Suppliers Security awareness training for staff All employees with access to airport supplies and all staff responsible for implementing security measures play a key role in the successful implementation of the Known Supplier process. For this reason, it is of utmost importance that these employees are selected carefully selected and attend the required security awareness training. The training content is supplied by Flughafen Zürich AG and must be fully completed (E-Learning Known Supplier) Known Supplier concept at Zurich Airport
Security requirements for Known Suppliers Prevention of unauthorized access to the operational buildings/areas and goods The Known Supplier must ensure through appropriate measures that no unauthorized person has access to storage areas with goods and supplies destined for the security-restricted zone of the airport Known Supplier concept at Zurich Airport
Security requirements for Known Suppliers Preventing the placement of prohibited Items Known Suppliers must be able to guarantee that no prohibited items are hidden in their deliveries resp. that such items cannot be brought into the securityrestricted area of the airport through a delivery. If this is not possible, then Known Suppliers must declare their goods as unknown and follow the respective instructions or request the producer/contractor to sign a security declaration for each delivery Known Supplier concept at Zurich Airport
Security requirements for Known Suppliers Adequate protection of all vehicles and containers Containers and vehicles containing deliveries for the airport must remain supervised and locked at all times to prevent unauthorized access. Alternatively, vehicles resp. containers may be sealed Known Supplier concept at Zurich Airport
Security requirements for Known Suppliers Subcontracted deliveries Direct deliveries of goods to the airport by subcontracted haulage companies or deliveries that are taken over by a Known Supplier just before delivery into the security-restricted area must be controlled at the entrance thereby ensuring that no prohibited items have been placed in the delivery. If this is not possible for logistical reasons, then the goods have to be declared as unknown and the respective process must be followed Known Supplier concept at Zurich Airport
Security requirements for Known Suppliers Reporting obligation Any suspected manipulation of a delivery (resp. its container or the transporting vehicle) as well as any other security-related incident (such as the detection of dangerous goods) must be immediately reported to the person in charge of security.
