Dispatch in the express logistics network. Posting by the sender or free collection from a total weight of five tons. Transit time: delivery as a regular service within two days of posting. Next-day-service. Dispatch in the high-speed network. This fast service is available subject to a small additional charge. Collection of 1,000 items per newspaper number free of charge. Transit time: delivery as a regular service within one day of posting. Same-day-service. Dispatch within a routing region. The mail items which are destined for a particular routing region are posted by the sender in the destination area. Transit time: delivery as a regular service on the day of posting.
4 4 Postvertriebsstück items (preferred periodicals) Conditions The legal side of it all: data and facts from the GT&Cs. The most important conditions. What kind of press materials can you send as POSTVERTRIEBSSTÜCK (preferred perio dicals)? Here the formal criteria: Newspapers and magazines that have a consistent inner and outer design; are made up of same-format and double-sided pages (at least 9cm x 14cm) which through folding or book-binding processing create a unit; are produced in identical duplication using a standard print technology and in doing so must be accessible to everyone and appear periodically, at least once every quarter; show the title and the number or the descriptor Special Edition on the cover page (the day of publi cation or a descriptor relating to publi cation frequency can also come from the title page or from the masthead). Which additional criteria must be fulfilled in terms of content? The press product must serve to inform about and engage the public concering current events, current and trade matters by way of editorial reporting containing no business advertisements (journalistic reporting). Variety in terms of articles, timelines, publicity as well as continuity must also be provided. What are the guidelines for distribution? Press products which are to be sent as POST- VERTRIEBSSTÜCK items (preferred periodicals) must be distributed in return for payment. This means that the portion distributed in return for payment must amount to at least 10% of the print run. Neither business advertising nor paid advertisements may appear in the portion distributed free of charge.
5 Conditions Postvertriebsstück items (preferred periodicals) 5 What kinds of inserts are allowed? Printed material with identical contents (e.g., advertising brochures, press materials without a Press Distribution contract). Objects not higher than 30mm (e.g., giveaways and free samples). Invoices and pre-printed payment transaction forms requesting payment for the periodical only. They must show the same amount. Please note: the preferred periodical must be heavier than the total weight of all inserts. En closed press materials for which a Press Distribution contract has not been concluded will be weighed as printed material with the periodicals and invoiced with the total weight of the shipment. When are press materials unable to be sent as POSTVERTRIEBSSTÜCK (preferred perio dicals)? If, for example, the materials editorial contents indicate direct business purposes. Evidence of this could be: advertising language articles clearly contributed by companies, purchase recommendations, order tips and order numbers, catalogued product or service presentations with or without contact information, fewer than 30% journalistic reporting, in addition, press products whose title pages contain the names of businesses or products, company or brand names serving the interests of these business enterprises, customer, in-house or keyed magazines, collected editions in which the texts are not easily understandable. What are the rules for the dispatch of special editions? Special editions sent as POSTVERTRIEBSSTÜCK (preferred periodicals) must also comply with the criteria listed above. They are otherwise booked as PRESSESENDUNG (standard periodicals).
