2 Invitation Cari Colleghi, siamo lieti di presentarvi il XVII Congresso dell Associazione Italiana di Neuroimmunologia che si terrà a Verona dal 30 Settembre al 3 Ottobre Il Congresso si svilupperà ricalcando lo schema consolidato degli ultimi eventi, con alcune novità che riteniamo interessanti dal punto di vista scientifico e culturale per tutti i partecipanti. La struttura portante del Congresso si articolerà in diverse Sessioni scientifiche che tratteranno le consuete tematiche neuroimmunologiche, sia in ambito clinico che sperimentale, avvalendosi anche della partecipazione di esperti internazionali: le problematiche dell autoimmunità nel sistema nervoso centrale, periferico e del muscolo, il ruolo di linfociti B e T nella risposta autoimmune, gli aspetti terapeutici nelle malattie neuroimmunologiche umane e sperimentali ed il contributo delle nuove tecnologie in tale ambito (systems biology e proteomica). Dal momento che negli stessi giorni a Verona si svolgeranno i Convegni nazionali della Società di Neuroscienze (SINS) e dell Associazione di Neuropatologia (AINP), abbiamo voluto cogliere l occasione per creare alcuni momenti di condivisione con tali eventi. A questo scopo, è stato organizzato un Simposio comune alle tre Società sul tema della Neuroinfiammazione che si terrà nella nostra giornata inaugurale; a seguire, vi sarà la lettura Sclerosi multipla: dalla neuropatologia alla neuroimmunologia pensata come trait d union dei partecipanti dell AINI e AINP. I due convegni proseguiranno poi in parallelo in maniera indipendente, ma con altri due eventi in comune: un simposio sull imaging in vivo del sistema nervoso centrale ed una sessione sulle malattie del nervo periferico. If you have no access to the internet, please contact the Organising Secretariat. The Scientific Secretariat will accept abstracts on all topics related to Neuroimmunology. Oral communication: All abstracts selected as oral communication are in English and are allotted 10 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for discussion. Power Point computer projection will be available for oral presentations. Poster session: A relevant area will be provided for the poster session. Posters should be 150 cm height and 100 cm wide and will remain on display for the whole duration of the meeting. Poster session requires the author s presence. Posters will be discussed preferably in English in the congress room on 1 October, from 14:30 to 16:00. Power point computer projection will be available for presentation, please bring a digital presentation with you. Travel Grants: A limited number of travel grants of 300 Euro will be awarded to students and young scientists under 32 years. The applicant should be AINI member and first author of a submitted abstract. Applicants should send a motivated letter to the Organsing Secretariat ( within 27 August 2007 together with a copy of their Curriculum Vitae and a letter signed by the head of department.
4 ECM accreditation: The Italian Commission for Continuous Medical Education assigned 16 credits to the congress. The credits will be assigned to all participants who will fulfill the questionnaire which will be distributed the last day of the meeting. Daily sign in will be also required. VII AINI Award Marco Vergelli The VII AINI award Marco Vergelli of Euro 750, will be assigned at the end of the congress to a student or young scientist under 35 years, whose scientific contribution, as an oral presentation, will be selected by a Scientific Committee composed by the AINI Board and the Organising Committee. IV AINI Award Domenico Paolini The IV AINI award Domenico Paolini of Euro 500, will be assigned at the end of the congress to a student or young scientist under 32 years, whose scientific contribution, as a poster presentation, will be selected by a Scientific Committee composed by the AINI Board and the Organising Committee. Registration fees: AINI member* Euro 240,00 Non AINI member Euro 300,00 *AINI member should be updated with the annual fee. The registration fee includes: participation to scientific sessions printed material of the congress certificate of attendance welcome reception coffee breaks buffet lunches social dinner VAT 20% included.
