UPRR replaced the manual process of placing request for vans to transport the Union Pacific (UP) crews from work locations to residence and vice versa with an electronic van management system. The major functionality of this project is optimization of the van utilization so as to minimize the cost to the van vendor. EVMS provides the functionality to initiate, change, update the status & invoice the orders. The transaction data in Oracle is populated to Teradata by nightly jobs, so that we can generate various Operations, Financial reports with the reporting tool WebFOCUS 7.1.
