1 Simon Athlete Mobile INTRODUCTION Antidoping Switzerland uses Simon to manage its anti-doping program and track whereabouts for most of the athletes in its testing program. For several years these athletes have used the Simon Athlete Website to enter and manage their whereabouts information. In March, 2012 Antidoping Switzerland launched the Simon Athlete Mobile app a web-based mobile app that allows athletes to use their phone or tablet to manage their whereabouts information. The Simon Athlete Mobile app is optimized for Apple (iphone, ipad, ipod) and Android (phones and tablets) devices. The app is integrated completely into the Simon application suite, which means that updates made through the app are immediately visible to Antidoping Switzerland staff and doping control officers. The app utilizes the latest mobile technologies, including Google Maps integration, and was designed to be very responsive even over slower cellular connections. This document contains screenshots from the app and corresponding descriptions of how the app functions. A demo app is located at the following address: 1 st May, 2012 Page 1 of 27

2 1. Devices The Simon Athlete Mobile app is optimized for Apple (iphone, ipad, ipod) and Android (phones and tablets) devices. The screenshots below show 3 different areas of the app on 4 different devices. As these screenshots demonstrate, the athlete experience is consistent no matter what type of device they are using. 5 2. Languages The Simon Athlete Mobile app was designed and built to support multiple languages. For Antidoping Switzerland the app supports German, French, Italian and English. While multilanguage support is built in to the application, it can also easily support a single-language implementation. The screenshots below show 3 different areas of the app in two of the four languages implemented for Antidoping Switzerland. 6 "Map" screen German English 3. Login The Login screen is the first screen seen by the athletes. This is where athletes can select their preferred language. The app will remember their language choice and automatically load the selected language when the app is launched again. The app has built-in security features such as automatic account locks. If an athlete enters an incorrect password 3 times, their account is locked automatically. If an athlete cannot remember his username or password, he can tap the "Trouble Logging In?" link for assistance. If an athlete would prefer to access the "Full" version of the Simon Athlete Website, she can tap the "Full Site" link. 1 st May, 2012 Page 6 of 27

7 4. Login > Trouble Logging In? Tapping "Retrieve your password hint" allows athletes to have their password hint ed to them. Tapping "Reset your password" allows athletes to create a new, temporary password that is ed to them. When they log in with this temporary password they are automatically prompted to create a new password. Tapping " Antidoping Switzerland" allows the athletes to send an to Antidoping Switzerland for further assistance. Tapping "Call Antidoping Switzerland" will open the dialer on the athlete's phone and prefill the phone number for Antidoping Switzerland. 1 st May, 2012 Page 7 of 27

8 5. Signed In Quarter Select After logging in successfully the athlete lands on the Quarter Select screen. This screen displays the quarters that are currently available for updating. If an athlete has already submitted his whereabouts for a quarter, the entire quarter box is shaded green. If an athlete has not yet submitted his whereabouts, the box is shaded red. The text in the box also changes based on whether or not an athlete has submitted his whereabouts. To update whereabouts for a quarter the athlete simply taps the appropriate box. The middle section of the page displays the athlete's schedule for a single day. By default the schedule for the current day is displayed. The athlete can tap the right and left arrow buttons to view her whereabouts for different days. Tapping an item allows the athlete to edit the information. In the screenshot below the clock icon indicates the athlete's 60-Minute Time Slot. Tapping "Logout" allows the athlete to log out of the application. 9 6. Month View Month view allows athletes to view one month at a time. Athletes can tap the right and left arrows to move between months. Tapping an individual day will display the Day View for the selected day. 11 7. Day View Day view lists all of the athlete's activities for the selected day. Icons are used to indicate 60-Minute Time Slot locations and entries that are part of recurring calendar entries. Tapping the left and right arrows enables the athlete to move between days. Tapping an individual entry displays a screen that allows the athlete to edit the selected entry. 12 Day View Validation A day with no activities. The athlete is prompted to add their one-hour testing window for this day. A day with conflicting entries. In this case the athlete has indicated that he will be at the "Lee Valley Regional Park" all day, but also indicated that his one-hour testing window is at Home. 13 8. Add Entry Single Day This screen allows the athlete to add a location to one day on their calendar. Tapping "Select Location" allows the athlete to select one of their current locations. Tapping "Add New" enables the athlete to add a new location. The athlete is able to select the date, times, indicate if this is an all-day entry and optionally indicate this is their one-hour testing window location. 1 st May, 2012 Page 13 of 27

14 9. Add Entry Multi-Day This screen allows the athlete to add a location multiple, consecutive days on their calendar. Tapping "Select Location" allows the athlete to select one of their current locations. Tapping "Add New" enables the athlete to add a new location. The athlete is able to select the date, times, indicate if this is an all-day entry and optionally indicate this is their one-hour testing window location. 1 st May, 2012 Page 14 of 27

15 10. Add Entry Recurring This screen allows the athlete to add a recurring entry (e.g. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday) to their calendar. Tapping "Select Location" allows the athlete to select one of their current locations. Tapping "Add New" enables the athlete to add a new location. The athlete is able to select the date, times, indicate if this is an all-day entry and optionally indicate this is their one-hour testing window location. 1 st May, 2012 Page 15 of 27

16 11. Add Entry > Add New Location Athletes have threee ways to add a new location. Tapping "Manual Entry" allows athletes to manually enter location details (e.g., location type, location name, address, etc.). Tapping "Search (Google Maps)" allows the athlete to add a neww location by performing a search with Google Maps. Tapping "Use Previous" allows athletes to view and select a location that was entered on a previous whereabouts submission. 1 st May, 2012 Page 16 of 27

17 12. Add Entry > Add Location > Search This screen allows athletes to find a location by performing a search. As the athlete beings typing in the search box, a list of possible matches is displayed below the search box. When the athlete selects one of the possible matches, the map will zoom to the selected location and the location details will be displayed in a popup window above the map. Add Entry > Add Location > Search Use Current Tapping "Use Current Location" zooms the map to the athlete's current location and displays the location information in a popup window above the map. 19 14. Add Entry > Add Location > Use Previous The "Use Previous" option allows athletes to view locations they have entered on previous whereabouts submissions. This can be useful for locations such as training facilities and other locations that appear on the athlete's calendar each quarter. If an athlete has already added a previous location to their current whereabouts submission, the text "Location already added to the current quarter" is displayed on the location. 1 st May, 2012 Page 19 of 27

20 15. Submission Message If an athlete has made changes to her whereabouts information but not yet submitted those changes, a red bar is displayed to remind the athlete that their updates have not yet been submitted. 1 st May, 2012 Page 20 of 27

21 16. Validation - Warning Tapping the "Submit" button allows the athlete to submit his whereaboutss updates to Antidoping Switzerland. The app automatically identifies if the athlete has any missingg or conflicting information and displays the message below. Tapping the "Continue" button displays the Validation Details screen. 22 17. Notes - Submit This screen allows athletes to enter general notes to be included with their whereabouts information. Athletes can also tap the "Terms and Conditions" link to view the Antidoping Switzerland Terms and Conditions. 1 st May, 2012 Page 22 of 27

23 18. Submission Confirmation After submitting their updates, athletes see the confirmation screen below. Tapping "Continue" takes athletes back to the Quarter Select screen. Tapping "Logout" logs the athlete out of the application. 1 st May, 2012 Page 23 of 27

24 19. More (expanded) Tapping "More" in the menu displays additional options. Tapping "Locations" displays a master list of the athlete's locations (i.e. Home, Training Facilities, Competitions and Other locations). Tapping "Quarters" displays the Quarter Select screen. 25 20. Location List The Locations screen displays the master list of the athlete's locations (i.e. Home, Training Facilities, Competitions and Other locations).
