It is someone who demonstrates great skill, dexterity, or knowledge as the result of training or experience. An attorney is a person who acts for another in legal matters. Although he or she may be an expert and knowledgeable in law, he or she may not necessarily be an expert in specific subject matter such as drug analysis, DNA, or other forensic matters. Why utilize an expert? Your attorney may be an expert in law. However, your attorney is not a trained criminalist, psychologist or investigator.
