3 Private Medical Insurance (PMI) Ill health can reduce your employees attendance at work, restrict their productivity and adversely affect their families. Having a healthy workforce can contribute to a healthy bottom line and can be an important factor in acquiring and retaining staff. Administered by ECIS and arranged and provided by Bupa, the ECA PMI scheme provides access to prompt diagnosis and treatment, helping to reduce staff absence from work and helping you take care of your employee s health and wellbeing. Scheme Benefits The table below provides an overview of some of the benefits covered on the policy. This is not an exhaustive list, but outlines some of the key benefits covered. Surgeons and anaesthetists In-patient/day-patient treatment and MRI/CT/PET scans Outpatient Cancer Benefit Excess Home Nursing Paid in Full Paid in Full 1,250 per year including 250 for complementary medicine Full cover None Up to 2,000 per year Parental Accommodation One parent with child up to age 16 NHS Cash Benefit NHS Cancer Cash Benefit Treatment at Home Private Ambulance Mental Health Hospital Access 200 per night up to 35 nights 100 each day/night Paid in full upon authorisation Up to 80 per trip Up to 45 days in-patient Partnership hospitals Why choose PMI through ECIS? A choice of underwriting options including Medical History Disregarded Underwriting meaning pre-existing conditions are not excluded from cover as long as they are within the terms and conditions of the policy Your staff can access Bupa s musculoskeletal triage service which removes the need to see a GP. An advisor carries out a telephone assessment and approves required treatment. Self referral reduces staff absence from an average of 7 days down to 4.1 days The PMI scheme has over 17,000 members meaning the claims risk is spread over a large membership No age band increases until members reach 65 With sickness absence currently costing the UK economy 15 billion a year, the benefits of early intervention need to be taken seriously.¹ ¹The Work Foundation Report, 2013, Fit for Work Europe Coalition
4 Value PMI Administered by ECIS and arranged and provided by Bupa, our alternative private medical insurance proposition, Value, has been developed to provide access to private treatment for the conditions which frequently have a long waiting time within the NHS and can therefore impact sickness absence levels. High cost treatment which is generally handled quickly within the NHS, such as cancer, has reduced limits on the policy, allowing us to provide you with reduced premiums. Scheme Benefits The table below provides an overview of some of the benefits covered on the policy. This is not an exhaustive list, but outlines some of the key benefits covered. Your staff will have full cover for in-patient and day-treatment as well as MRI, CT and PET scans meaning that diagnosis and required treatment can be made quickly, helping to reduce absence from work NHS Cancer Cover Plus is is provided as one of the benefits under our Value PMI. This means your staff are eligible for chemotherapy, radiotherapy or surgical operations if recommended by a specialist, and the treatment is not available to them on the NHS
5 Cash Plan A cash plan can be used to support your health and wellbeing strategy. The diversity of benefits available through a cash plan, including optical and dental cover, ensure they will appeal to most members of your workforce. They can help staff address underlying health issues before they become more serious. Our cash plan can be offered as a standalone benefit or to complement other healthcare benefits such as PMI. Administered by ECIS and arranged and provided by Bupa, our cash plan is a great way to provide a cost-effective healthcare benefit to your staff. It is surprising how quickly every day healthcare costs begin to add up. And worst of all, many common healthcare expenses are difficult to plan for. Our cash plan offers your staff a simple way to receive cash back against some of the costs of every day health expenses. With a choice of 3 cover levels, you can choose the level of cover that is right for your company, at a price that suits your budget. Cover can be extended to include partners and children. A cash plan improves the affordability of healthcare and preventative treatment for your staff, helping to boost their health and wellbeing and speed their return to work after accident or illness. 6 Dental Plan Each year almost half a million employees are forced to take time off as a result of poor oral health². In addition, a report by National Dental Plan (NDP) suggested that almost 20% of adults delay their dental appointments each year due to cost³. A dental plan can help combat this and keep your staff smiling! Administered by ECIS, arranged and provided by NDP, our dental plan is a great way to provide a costeffective dental benefit to your staff. Regular checkups every 6 12 months, help your staff avoid the need for lengthy, major treatment and subsequent distraction and absence from work. Check-ups also provide the opportunity for your staff to engage with their dentist and receive advice on how best to look after their teeth and to improve their oral hygiene. With a choice of 5 different cover levels, you can choose the level of cover to offer, one that is right for your company, at a price that suits your budget. Cover can also be extended to cover partners and children. Why choose ECIS Dental Plan Any pre-existing dental conditions your staff may have are covered (excluding mouth cancer) Staff can choose their dentist; whether that is a long standing family dentist or a new dentist close to where they work Worldwide dental cover for staff on holiday or travelling with work Staff that use a NHS dentist will have 100% of their costs reimbursed Immediate cover for your staff no waiting period You can choose to cover just your staff or your staff and their families With emergency cover your staff can seek prompt treatment without worrying about the cost From the last day of treatment, your staff have 90 days to submit their claim.
