It contains the fu detais of your poicy incuding the excusions. It is important that you read it carefuy aong with your oan agreement and keep them in a safe pace. This poicy uses words and phrases that have specific meanings, you wi find these expained in the Definitions section. Defined words are shown in bod wherever they appear. Make sure that you: are eigibe for the insurance cover; know what this insurance does and does not cover; understand how changes to your work affect your eigibiity and the terms and conditions of making a caim. If you have any questions about your eigibiity for this insurance or changes to your circumstances you shoud ca the cahoot contact centre on between 8am and 8pm Monday to Friday and between 9am and 5pm Saturday. Changing your mind your canceation rights This insurance is optiona and you have a statutory right to cance your poicy during a period of 30 days from the day of purchase of the poicy or the day on which you receive your poicy, whichever is the ater. This is caed the statutory cooing off period. If you wish to cance during this period, you wi be entited to a fu refund of the premium paid. If you have made a caim and then cance within this period, we may seek to recover any monies paid to you in settement of the caim. To exercise your right to cance in the statutory cooing off period, pease go to the secure zone and cance payment protection by sending a secure message via contact us. Or ca the cahoot contact centre on between 8am and 8pm Monday to Friday and between 9am and 5pm on a Saturday. If you do not exercise your right to cance your poicy in the statutory cooing off period, it wi continue in force and you wi be required to pay the premium. For your canceation rights after the statutory cooing off period, pease refer to the When does your poicy end? section of this poicy. Eigibiity, important notes and materia facts Eigibiity You are eigibe for this insurance if at the start date you: are aged 18 years or over but under 65 when your oan agreement is due to be repaid; work at east 16 hours per week and have done so for at east the ast six months; ive in the UK; and have a fixed rate oan agreement with cahoot and are the first named person on your oan appication form. For the purposes of this insurance work means any paid work of at east 16 hours per week. This incudes sef-empoyed work and statutory maternity and parenta eave but it does not incude temporary work. If you are sef-empoyed or you work on fixed term contracts you are eigibe for this insurance but you shoud read the poicy carefuy to make sure it is suitabe for your needs you shoud pay particuar attention to the Empoyment circumstances, Unempoyment cover and Things to keep in mind when caiming sections.

This poicy does not cover a medica condition or reated symptoms you knew about at the start date whether the condition had been diagnosed or not. This is known as a pre-existing medica condition. If you have seen a doctor in the ast 12 months, your abiity to caim may be affected. This is expained further in the Accident or sickness cover section. 2. If you are off work due to accident or sickness at the start date: You may sti be eigibe for the insurance. However, you shoud be aware that you wi not be abe to caim for accident or sickness cover during the first 12 months foowing the start date if the medica condition or reated symptoms return. If you do not return to work within the first 30 days foowing the start date, your accident or sickness cover wi not start unti you have returned to work for 30 consecutive days. In this case, any pre-existing medica condition wi not be covered if it returns within 12 months of the date your accident or sickness cover starts. 3. This poicy wi not pay for any unempoyment you were aware of at the start date. You wi not be covered for any unempoyment which we reasonaby beieve you knew was ikey to happen, whether you had officia notice or not, when you took out this insurance. 4. This poicy wi not pay for any unempoyment that you were advised of or which happens during the first 56 days of the start date, whether you were aware of it or not at the start date. 5. This poicy wi not pay a carer caim if at the start date we reasonaby beieve you were aware of the need, or ikey need at any time in the future, for a member of your immediate famiy to require a carer or you are notified of receipt of or appy for Carer s Aowance within the first 56 days of the start date. A materia fact is one that is ikey to infuence us in the acceptance and assessment of an appication e.g. iving outside the UK or in work for ess than 16 hours per week. It is your responsibiity to provide compete and accurate information to cahoot and us when you take out your insurance poicy and throughout the ife of your poicy. Pease note that if you fai to discose any materia information to us, this coud invaidate your insurance cover and coud mean that part or a of a caim may not be paid. We recommend you keep a record (incuding copies of etters) of a information provided to cahoot and us for your future reference. Changes during the ifetime of your poicy that may affect your insurance cover It is your responsibiity to ensure that this poicy continues to meet your requirements shoud the circumstances of your work change during the ifetime of your poicy, as this coud affect your entitement to benefits. Your eigibiity for cover under this poicy may change if your persona circumstances change. If this happens or is ikey to happen, you shoud discuss this with cahoot. This woud incude for exampe: You retiring from work and not intending to activey seek further work. Changing your empoyment e.g. your work becomes temporary. You vountariy reduce your hours of work to ess than 16 hours per week. You reaching 65 years of age. You eave the UK to ive abroad. If your empoyment changes or is ikey to change or you have any questions you shoud visit cahoot, via contact us through the secure website. Fixed term contracts If you work on a fixed term contract and your contract is not renewed after the end date, you wi ony be entited to caim for unempoyment cover if you meet one of the foowing criteria: you have worked continuousy for the same empoyer for at east 24 months; or your contract is for at east 12 months and has been renewed at east once with the same empoyer; or you were originay empoyed on a permanent basis but were transferred to a fixed term contract by the same empoyer without a break in empoyment. Sef-empoyed We consider you to be sef-empoyed if you meet one of the foowing criteria: you are carrying on a business in the UK either aone or as a partner in a partnership; or you can contro the affairs of a company you work for because either you or a reative or a member of your househod individuay or jointy hod the majority of the voting rights in that company; or you can otherwise ensure that the company you work for conducts its affairs according to your wishes. If you are sef-empoyed, to be entited to caim for unempoyment benefit, you wi need to: provide satisfactory proof that you have invountariy ceased trading because you coud not find enough work to meet a your reasonabe business and iving expenses and have decared this to HM Revenue & Customs; and be registered as unempoyed with the Department for Work and Pensions. Retiring before the age of 65 If you retire before the age of 65 and do not intend to activey seek further work, you wi no onger be eigibe for unempoyment or accident or sickness cover. You wi sti be eigibe for ife cover and may need to re-consider whether this poicy remains suitabe for your needs. 6 Fixed Rate Loan Payment Protection Insurance Poicy Document Page 6 of 16 Life cover What is covered If you die, we wi pay the outstanding oan baance at the date of your death, up to a maximum tota of 30,000, for a your fixed rate oan agreements insured by us. What is not covered (in addition to genera excusions) We wi not pay any caim due to or arising from your own wifu actions, drug or acoho abuse. (This does not incude any drugs prescribed by your doctor, except if they are to treat drug addiction.) Accident or sickness cover What is covered If an accident or sickness prevents you working for more than 30 days in a row, we wi pay: 1/30th of your monthy benefit for each day from the 31st fu day you are unabe to work. Benefits are payabe monthy in arrears so the first payment wi be made on the 61st day of accident or sickness and wi be backdated to the 31st day; then the fu monthy benefit, at monthy intervas, for each foowing month you are unabe to work; then at the end of your accident or sickness, we wi pay 1/30th of the monthy benefit for each day of your accident or sickness from the day after you were ast paid benefit to the ast day of your accident or sickness up to a maximum of 12 months benefit in tota or the outstanding oan baance is repaid, whichever occurs first. Exampe of how a caim is cacuated Day 1 Day 31 Day 61 Waiting period Date you become unabe to work due to accident or sickness If you are sti off work on day 31 we wi pay 1/30th of your monthy benefit which is payabe monthy in arrears The first payment wi be backdated from the 61st day to the 31st day. We wi then continue to pay the fu monthy benefit in arrears, for every further month you are off work Your fina payment may be ess than a fu monthy benefit as it wi be based on the number of days between the ast monthy benefit payment date and your return to work up to a maximum of 12 monthy benefits If you return to work after caiming for accident or sickness and then are unabe to work within 3 months because of the same accident or sickness you do not have to wait before benefits can be paid. We wi combine these 2 periods into one caim when cacuating your benefit period subject to a maximum benefit of 12 monthy benefit payments. Once we have paid the maximum number of 12 monthy benefit payments, you need to return to work, free of a symptoms and not receiving medica treatment for your origina condition, for at east 6 consecutive months before you can make another accident or sickness caim for the same or reated condition. However, if your new caim is for an unreated condition, you wi ony need to be back at work for 30 days to be eigibe to caim again. What is not covered (in addition to genera excusions) We wi not pay any accident or sickness caims due to or arising from: Any pre-existing medica condition which persists or returns during the first 12 months of accident or sickness cover. This excusion wi not appy once you have been continuousy insured under the accident or sickness cover for 12 months, so ong as you are attending work at the start of your caim.

7 Fixed Rate Loan Payment Protection Insurance Poicy Document Page 7 of 16 This means we wi not pay for any condition, injury, iness, disease, sickness or reated condition and/or associated symptoms, whether diagnosed or not: which you knew about, or shoud reasonaby have known about, at the start date; or which you had seen or arranged to see a doctor about, during the 12 months immediatey before the start date. Cosmetic surgery or other treatment, which is not medicay necessary. Your detention in prison under the direction of a court of aw. This wi not appy if you are ater acquitted. Your own wifu actions, drug or acoho abuse. (This does not incude any drugs prescribed by your doctor, except if they are to treat drug addiction.) Note If you have retired, are not activey seeking work and are not registered as unempoyed you wi not be abe to caim for accident or sickness. Unempoyment cover What is covered If you are unempoyed for more than 30 days in a row, we wi pay: 1/30th of your monthy benefit for each day from the 31st fu day you are unempoyed. Benefits are payabe monthy in arrears so the first payment wi be made on the 61st day you are unempoyed and wi be backdated to the 31st day; then the fu monthy benefit, at monthy intervas, for each foowing month of your unempoyment; then at the end of your unempoyment, we wi pay 1/30th of the monthy benefit for each day of your unempoyment from the day after you were ast paid benefit to the ast day of your unempoyment up to a maximum of 12 months benefit in tota or the outstanding oan baance is repaid, whichever occurs first. every further month you are off work If, after caiming for unempoyment, you are made unempoyed again within 3 months of returning to work, you wi not have to wait before benefits can be paid. We wi combine these 2 periods of unempoyment into one caim when cacuating your benefit period subject to a maximum benefit of 12 monthy benefit payments. Sef-empoyed If you are sef-empoyed and you have invountariy ceased trading because you coud not find enough work to meet a your reasonabe business and iving expenses and have decared this to HM Revenue & Customs you wi be entited to caim for unempoyment benefit. If, for the purpose of this insurance you are not sef-empoyed, a other terms, conditions and excusions of this poicy wi appy. In either case you wi need to have a Jobseeker s Agreement for the whoe time you are caiming. If you are ineigibe for a Jobseeker s Agreement, you must be abe to provide ongoing aternative evidence that is acceptabe to us that you are unempoyed and activey seeking work. This coud incude copies of job appications, responses and registration with job agencies. Payment in ieu of notice If you have been paid or are entited to be paid in ieu of notice (instead of working out a notice period), any caim for unempoyment, incuding the waiting period, wi not start unti the end of your notice period. What is not covered (in addition to genera excusions) We wi not pay for any unempoyment: We reasonaby beieve you knew was ikey to happen, whether you had officia notice or not, when you took out the poicy. You are notified of or which happens within the first 56 days of the start date. If you have resigned or taken vountary redundancy. If you retire and do not intend to activey seek further work. Benefits are payabe monthy in arrears so the first payment wi be made on the 61st day you are a carer and wi be backdated to the 31st day; then the fu monthy benefit, at monthy intervas, for each foowing month you are a carer; then when you cease to be a carer, we wi pay 1/30th of your monthy benefit for each day you are a carer from the day after you were ast paid benefit to the ast day you were a carer for up to a maximum of 12 months benefit in tota, or the outstanding oan baance is repaid, whichever occurs first. further every If you caim for a second period of being a carer within 3 months of returning to work, you wi not have to wait before benefits can be paid. 10 Fixed Rate Loan Payment Protection Insurance Poicy Document Page 10 of 16 Genera excusions appying to a covers We wi not pay any caim due to or arising from: Any dishonest or exaggerated behaviour by you or anyone acting for you. If this happens, you wi have to return any benefits aready paid and you wi forfeit a future rights under this poicy. War, invasion, act of foreign enemy, hostiities or a warike operation or operations (whether war be decared or not), civi war, rebeion, revoution, insurrection, civi commotion assuming the proportions of or amounting to an uprising, miitary or usurped power and/or any action taken in controing, preventing, suppressing or in any way reating to any of these causes or events. Your caim Making a caim It is important that you register your caim as soon as possibe. For ife caims Your dependents or representatives shoud register the caim as soon as possibe by caing between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday. For accident or sickness, unempoyment or carer caims Step 1 You wi need to request a caim form by: caing between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday; or accessing account manager through the secure website and stipuating which form you require. Pease have the foowing information ready when you ca or access onine: your oan agreement number; your postcode. We wi be there to give you caims advice, answer questions and hep you through the caim process. Step 2 A caim form wi be sent to you. This shoud be competed as soon as possibe and returned to us with the reevant information: For accident or sickness caims you wi need to get a doctor and your empoyer to fi in the reevant section of the form. For unempoyment caims you wi need to arrange for a Department for Work and Pensions officia and your previous empoyer to fi in the reevant sections of the form. For carer caims you wi need to arrange for your previous empoyer to fi in the reevant section of the form and provide evidence that you are either in receipt of or awaiting Carer s Aowance. Things to keep in mind when caiming You must suppy and pay for a reasonabe information or evidence we ask for to support your initia caim and from time to time throughout your caim. If we ask for proof, you need to be abe and wiing to suppy it. If we do not receive a the information we need (for exampe decarations and medica questionnaires) or if these documents are not acceptabe to us we may deay or suspend your caim payments. We may contact your past empoyers or other insurers for information about you.

11 Fixed Rate Loan Payment Protection Insurance Poicy Document Page 11 of 16 For unempoyment caims you need to have a Jobseeker s Agreement for the whoe time you are caiming. If you are ineigibe for a Jobseeker s Agreement, you must be abe to provide ongoing aternative evidence acceptabe to us that you are unempoyed and activey seeking work. This coud incude copies of job appications, responses and registration with job agencies. When making an accident or sickness caim you must agree to any medica examination which we arrange and pay for. If you are a carer making a caim, we need satisfactory proof that you are required to ook after a member of your immediate famiy, that you have competed a Carer s Aowance caim pack and returned it to the Benefits Agency and are either in receipt of or awaiting Carer s Aowance. W e are concerned that you shoud not pay for the dishonesty of others. We make random checks, so do not be aarmed if one of our caims advisers cas. We aso exchange information with other insurers to prevent fraud. Back to work If you are unabe to work foowing an accident or sickness or unempoyment, you wi be contacted by our speciaist Back to Work service. This service is free, confidentia and designed to provide advice and assistance to hep you make a speedy return to work. Accident or sickness If you have a soft tissue injury (e.g. sprained musce or whipash), our rehabiitation speciaists wi contact you to hep you with a speedy recovery and return to work. This service provides: access to a speciaist website; cinicay run hepine and sef-hep booket with tips for a speedy recovery; a persona care adviser who can, where appropriate, arrange for suitabe treatment to speed your return to work. This service is designed to operate aongside the NHS and other recognised medica professionas. Unempoyment Our Back to Work service provides: sef-hep guide; access to a speciaist website; teephone advice providing access to speciaist empoyment counseors; confidentia advice and ongoing support throughout your search on: seeking work, career changes, state benefits managing your time effectivey whie searching for empoyment. tips on preparing your CV hep with preparing for interviews. Paying caims We wi make caim payments to your cahoot fixed rate oan account on your behaf. When we have made these payments, we wi not make any further payments for the same caim. Switching between caims If you need to you can switch from an unempoyment to an accident or sickness or a carer caim or any combination there is no additiona waiting period. However, we wi not pay more than 12 monthy benefit payments for any caim period. This appies to any one continuous period of accident or sickness, unempoyment or a period for which you are a carer or a combination of a three. You cannot caim for accident or sickness, unempoyment, or a carer caim at the same time.

We wi continue paying your caim unti the first of the foowing happens: Your unempoyment ends, you recover from your accident or sickness or you are no onger a carer. W e have paid 12 fu monthy benefit payments for any one continuous period of unempoyment, accident or sickness or a period for which you are a carer or a combination of a three. Your outstanding oan baance is repaid. You reach age 65. Paying premiums during a caim When you are making a caim under this poicy you shoud continue to pay the monthy premium to ensure that cover can continue once your caim has ended. In the event that you shoud wish to cance your poicy during a caim then we wi continue to pay monthy benefit provided the caim happened prior to the canceation date, and your premiums were up to date. However, you wi not be covered for any further caim that happens on or after the canceation date. Change of premium and cover We may change the premium rates and terms of cover at any time by sending you at east 30 days notice in writing. We wi te you about the change by e-mai through the cahoot secure website or by post to your ast known address. For commercia reasons, cahoot may decide to change the insurers that provide your insurance benefits. If that happens, we (or they) wi contact you not ess than 30 days before your current insurance expires with detais of the new insurer and any changes to the terms and conditions of your cover. You authorise us (and other Santander Group companies) to transfer your persona information to any new insurer to enabe that insurer to provide your cover. You aso consent to the new insurer providing insurance cover to you provided the new insurer offers insurance cover on simiar or better terms. This consent wi ensure that there is no break in your insurance cover and does not affect your right to cance your oan agreement. You may cance this authority and consent at any time but if you do so, your insurance poicy wi terminate if cahoot decides to change the insurer. When does your poicy end? The cover provided by this poicy and a benefit payments wi end, if any of the foowing happen: The oan repayments for your oan agreement end. The origina date agreed by cahoot for your oan agreement to be repaid is reached. Your oan agreement is transferred to a third party. You reach 65 years of age. You make a fase caim (you wi have to return any caim payments we have made). You die. The cover provided by this poicy wi end if: You have not paid your premiums when they are due; You cance this insurance at any time foowing the expiry of your statutory cooing off period by giving us 7 days notice by going to the secure zone and sending a secure message via contact us. Or ca the cahoot contact centre on ; We cance this insurance by giving you 30 days notice in writing or by e-mai through the secure website. However, we wi continue to pay monthy benefit that is due to be paid for accident or sickness, unempoyment or carer cover for any caim that happened prior to the end date. Promise of service compaints procedure Our aim is to give exceent service to a our customers but we recognise that things do go wrong occasionay. We take a compaints we receive seriousy and aim to resove a probems prompty. To ensure that we provide the kind of service you expect we wecome your feedback. We wi record and anayse your comments to make sure we continuay improve the service we offer.

We wi keep you informed of the progress of your compaint. We wi try our best to dea with your compaint within 4 weeks. If we need more time we wi et you know. Most concerns can be resoved quicky but occasionay more detaied enquiries are needed. If this is ikey, we wi contact you with an update and give you an expected date of response. Norma work means your work immediatey before your accident or sickness, or any other work which we think you are, or may reasonaby become quaified for, in view of your training, education and abiity. Carer You ook after a member of your immediate famiy on a fu-time basis and have competed a Carer s Aowance caim pack and are either in receipt of or awaiting Carer s Aowance from the Department for Work and Pensions. Carer s Aowance A taxabe benefit paid by the Department for Work and Pensions to informa carers. Doctor A medica practitioner (other than you or a member of your famiy) who hods a fu quaification entiting him or her to fu registration with the Genera Medica Counci. Immediate famiy Your spouse, civi partner, ive in partner, chidren and parents. Loan agreement Your unsecured fixed rate oan agreement with cahoot. At east 12 and no more than 60 monthy repayments must be due under the oan agreement. Monthy benefit An amount equa to the monthy repayment incuding interest and any premiums you must pay to cahoot each month under your oan agreement, up to a maximum of 1,500 per month. Outstanding oan baance The amount you owe to cahoot on a your insured fixed rate oan agreements, ess any discount for eary settement. The outstanding oan baance does not incude any monthy repayment arrears or any associated interest and costs. Poicy This document sets out the benefits, terms, conditions and excusions of your cahoot fixed rate oan payment protection insurance, which wi commence from the start date and continue for the duration of your oan agreement. It shoud be read in conjunction with your oan agreement. Pre-existing medica condition Any condition, injury, iness, disease, sickness or reated condition and/or associated symptoms, whether diagnosed or not: which you knew about, or shoud reasonaby have known about, at the start date, or which you had seen or arranged to see a doctor about, during the 12 months immediatey before the start date. Sef-empoyed You are sef-empoyed if: you are carrying on a business in the UK either aone or as a partner in a partnership; or you can contro the affairs of a company you work for because either you or a reative or a member of your househod individuay or jointy hod the majority of the voting rights in that company; or you can otherwise ensure that the company you work for conducts its affairs according to your wishes. Speciaist A doctor who is or has been a consutant at a NHS hospita.

Aso work that is seasona or irreguar, or for a period of training or apprenticeship. UK Engand, Scotand, Waes, Northern Ireand, the Channe Isands and the Ise of Man. Unempoyment/Unempoyed Having no paid work or temporary work and having a Jobseeker s Agreement with the Department for Work and Pensions in the UK. If you are ineigibe for a Jobseeker s Agreement you must be abe to provide aternative proof acceptabe to us that you are activey seeking work. Waiting period The first 30 days of any caim.
