Design Philosophy The Building God s Way team measures architectural excellence in three ways. (top photo) Founder, Dan Cook (bottom photo) Partner Architect, Don Mahoney Charrette Process BGW launches the preliminary design process with a very unique and intensive 2-3 day on-site meeting where the vision of the ministry is captured and translated into preliminary site plans, floor plans, seating diagrams, sketches and renderings. This dynamic Charrette process is highly collaborative and allows for amplified creativity and the free flow of ideas from key ministry leaders of the church. Through this process, BGW design teams are able to make rapid progress and actually complete 75-90% of the preliminary design during this 2-3 day period. I was skeptical about the amount of design work we could accomplish in a 3-day period, because it had taken us more than a year to get through the preliminary design stage for a church that I previously pastored. But as we went through the process and shared our vision with the BGW architects, a building started taking shape that really met the needs for the ministry that God has given us.
