Trustee Program A Board of Trustees assumes fiduciary responsibility for investment selection and monitoring. Investment options include Stable Value, Target Retirement Date and Target Risk asset allocation accounts.* Highly sophisticated, professionally arranged investment portfolios covering a broad range of asset class categories. Low-cost, institutional-style investments from well-known money managers. Simplified investment choices through professionally arranged investment portfolios. Available features include auto-enrollment, automatic contribution increases and Roth 401(k). Choice Program CUNA Mutual Group, through our Retirement Plan Services Investment Committee, provides pre-screening and selection to create the list of options to choose from. Plan sponsor selects investment lineup for the plan. Investment options include Stable Value, Target Retirement Date and Target Risk asset allocation accounts.* Investment options cover a broad range of asset class categories. Vesting schedule for employer contributions. Automatic enrollment options. Automatic contribution increase options. Deductible contribution levels may be substantially higher than with other types of retirement plans. Provides the most direct means to help employees reach their goals. Delivers specific monthly income at retirement and participants know the amount in advance. Employees benefits are not subject to the fluctuations in the stock/bond markets. Vesting schedule can exclude employees with less than 5 years of service. Enormous flexibility in plan design. Pre-funding (subject to deduction limits) can lower annual costs. Early retirement windows allow you to effectively manage your workforce. Back-load accruals to benefit long-standing employees or front-load accruals to attract new employees. Employee credit for past service or prior service in the same industry. Cash Balance Viewed as a hybrid plan. It is a DB plan exhibiting features of a defined contribution plan. Typically instituted when an employer wants to retain the guaranteed benefit of a DB plan for his or her employees, but would like to better manage the funding expenses. Employees receive pay credits plus an assumed rate of interest in their cash balance account. Plan investment decisions made with respect to employer and employees benefits are not subject to fluctuations in the bond/ stock markets. 7

Making recommendations to maintain, remove, watch, or replace investment managers and fund families. Ongoing investment performance reporting. Because your plan investments are rigorously and independently monitored, you have added reassurance that your investment lineup meets standards established by the Prudent Man Rule. The Investment Committee and Board of Trustees utilize state-of-the-art statistical screens that help determine the overall quality and suitability of investments offered in the Choice and Trustee programs. Each investment option is evaluated based on its unique role in the investment lineup, and as a potential component of a participant s diversified portfolio.
