NEO tape libraries have the ability to start small and then scale as capacity requirements grow. What is your backup window? Knowing how much data needs to be backed up and in what timeframe will help you determine the type and number of tape drives to recommend in a NEO library. Small/ medium business users typically require one or two tape drives, providing data transfer rates of up to 2 TB/hr. Larger enterprise accounts often require 4+ tape drives, providing up to 12 TB/hr. data transfer rates. What type of network connectivity is required? While most NEO solutions provide native SAS, SCSI or FC connectivity, understanding the backup server connectivity requirements will help you provide a NEO solution that seamlessly integrates with existing network infrastructures and provides the highest speed performance.
