1 ACCOMACK COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS UNIT PLAN - Grade 1 PRIMARY CONTENT AREA: X Science History Other: UNIT TOPIC/THEME: Seasonal Changes DURATION: 25 days Quarter: X_(10 days)_1 _X_(5 days) 2_X (5 days)_3_x (5 days) 4 Primary SOL Objective(s) 1.7a - changes in temperature, light, and precipitation affect plants and animals, including humans(growth, budding, falling leaves, and wilting, losing leaves, hibernating, migrating) FYI hibernation is at an introductory level Bloom s Level of Assessment Secondary Objective(s) 1.1 The student will demonstrate an understanding of scientific reasoning, logic, and the nature of science by planning and conducting investigations. Bloom s Level Assessment N/A 1.7b - there are relationships between daily and seasonal changes; and Writing 1.13 d) Use complete sentences in final copies. e) Begin each sentence with a capital letter and use ending punctuation in final copies. f) Use correct spelling for commonly used sight words and phonetically regular words in final copies. g) Share writing with others. N/A 1.7c - changes in temperature, light, and precipitation can be observed and recorded over time.
