1 Reactive Maintenance Service

2 Aura, in conjunction with Building NEEDS, has launched a new venture to deliver a dedicated reactive repairs call out service for Church of England schools across the North East of England. Aura, a leading provider of building services to schools in the North East, was identified to deliver the new service by Building NEEDS, which is part of North East Education Development Services limited, a joint venture owned by the Church of England Dioceses of Durham and Newcastle. Facilities management is an important aspect of school operations and can be the difference between a school being open or closed.

3 Our new reactive service has been designed to help schools manage those day to day problems that can occur with buildings and facilities. The new call out service forms part of Aura s on going initiative to support schools in all aspects of building service delivery across the North East. Our reactive service arranges on call engineers, technicians and support staff to provide schools with the assurance that any building issue will be responded to and rectified day or night. The service provides schools with a dedicated 24 hour telephone number, 365 days of the year, that they can call to action building repairs, including: Heating Plumbing Electrical Gas Building fabric

4 Reactive Service Process

5 Call Out Times Call out times will depend on the severity and nature of the problem the school is facing. For example any problem that is a health and safety risk or that is likely to cause damage to the fabric and fixtures of the building will be classed as an emergency. In the case of an emergency an engineer will be at the school within 4 hours. This gives schools the peace of mind that they are keeping their staff and students safe and minimising the amount of learning and teaching that can be lost through school and facility closure.

6 Our well-established team of engineers provide a number of benefits that we are able to pass onto schools, including competitive pricing gained from economies of scales and the reliability of having our own contracted engineers. As an established provider of reactive services to a variety of North East schools we have well established procedures and protocols that comply with school health and safety and safeguarding policies.

Materials are charged at cost plus 9%. All prices excluding VAT charged at standard rate based on site attendance during normal hours.

9 Next Steps In the event of a reactive maintenance incident please call Aura s helpdesk on our dedicated 24 hour telephone number, , where our team will be able to offer support. Furthermore, in preparation for such an event, it is completely free to register in advance for our reactive service simply by calling Aura on However it is not necessary to have previously registered to access the service. The advantage of registering in advance is that we will need to take a minimum amount of details from you on your first call out.
