Staff will be on hand to provide information on both the DAAD's scholarship and grant programs as well as the possibilities for degree studies in Germany. Visit: daad.org/canada daadca@daad.org The Go Global Expo in Toronto will take place at the Mattamy Centre at Maple Leaf Gardens (50 Carlton Street) on Saturday, September 20th from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm and on Sunday, September 21st from noon to 5:00 pm. In Montréal, the Go Global Expo is on Saturday, September 27th from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Palais des Congrès (159 Rue St-antoine O). If you're at either fair, please do make an effort to drop by our booth to say hello! Student Information Session in Montrèal Together with our partners at the Goethe Institut Montréal, the DAAD Information Centre will present an information session for Montréal area post-secondary students on Friday, September 26th at 3:00 pm at the Goethe Institut office at 1626 Boulevard Saint-Laurent.

2 2 of 6 10/6/ :05 PM At the session, students will receive details on German study and scholarship opportunities as well as on language learning and testing offered through the Goethe Institut. Presentations will be made in English, however, we will happily answer questions posed in French. All are welcome so please join us if you are able! Call for Applications - Science Tour Modelling the Future: Understanding Global Challenges through Computer-Based Modelling and Simulation The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) invites foreign researchers and administrators from universities and research institutes to participate in a tour of cutting-edge research facilities in northern Germany which specialize in the field of modelling future scenarios. The tour will examine issues related to computer-based modelling and simulation from a variety of disciplinary perspectives including maritime sciences, economics, climate change and epidemiology. This tour will run from November 30 through to December 6, 2014 and participants are

The new deadline is January 15, RISE is a summer internship program for undergraduate students from the United States, Canada and the UK in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences and engineering. RISE offers unique opportunities for Bachelor students to work with research groups at universities and top research institutions across Germany for a period of 2 to 3 months during the summer. Deadline: EMGIP Bundestag Internship Programm The EMGIP Bundestag Internship program offers a two-month placement in the German parliament to students who are fluent in German and possess outstanding academic records, personal integrity and sufficient knowledge of the German legislative process. Applicants must be advanced undergraduates or graduate students working in the disciplines of political science, international relations, law, history, economics or German. This year's event will take place on Friday, September 26 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the Alliance Française de Toronto at 24 Spadina Road. The celebration provides Toronto students (Grades 7-12) the opportunity to take part in a number of different language-oriented activities presented by Prologue to the Performing Arts and offers European Language educators additional Professional Development. Call for Applications: Falling Walls' Young Innovator Award Falling Walls is a unique international platform for leaders from the worlds of science, business, politics, the arts and society. It was initiated on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Inspired by this world-changing event on November 9, 1989, the question at the centre of each Falling Walls gathering is: Which walls will fall next? Falling Walls fosters discussion on research and innovation and promotes the latest scientific findings among a broad audience from all parts of society The next Falling Walls event will take place in Berlin on November 8/9, As part of this, Falling Walls is accepting applications for the 2014 Young Innovators of the Year through to September 21, Falling Walls Young Innovators are outstanding young talents whose ideas hold the potential to introduce positive change to society, the environment and the world. Award winners and a further number of applicants will receive scholarships to attend the Falling Walls conference in Berlin on November 9, This conference brings together forward thinking individuals from around the globe and will feature presentations by twenty of the world's leading scientists on their current breakthrough research.
