How can help me to discover my purpose and passions? These are the questions that we will explore together in an interactive session designed to spark our imaginations and creativity about why higher education matters in finding your calling. This mini-workshop focuses on the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and the role of the chief diversity officer in building a just and humane campus. We will discover together what it means to be inclusive. One Process will be explained. We want students to feel valued, respected and safe on s campus. Paying for college can be overwhelming. This session will discuss how the financial aid process works at, the financial aid resources available and the payment plan options families can utilize while their student is in school. A chance for student athletes and their families to get an overview of what it means to be a student AND an athlete at DU. There will be time to answer questions. There are many ways to get to, from and around DU! Learn more about DU s multimodal transportation options and resources as a commuter student. 5 2 p.m. Catch the Buzz Foundations and the Core Curriculum Health Insurance: Questions and Answers The March Continues: Justice Immersion and Civic Engagement at Think About It: Partying Smart Parents and students with disabilities often don t know about the academic and social supports services available at. Whether the student has an IEP / 504 from high school, or has been recently diagnosed with a disability, the Disability Support Services office is ready to help navigate the many resources available. An introduction to the new Kurzweil Firefly software license will demonstrate how Universal Design in education helps ALL students, not just students with disabilities. This panel will present information on the core curriculum foundations requirements. Faculty teaching in the core will present information and answer questions about these requirements and the core curriculum, in general. This session will help families figure out the new health insurance landscape and how to help their student and family stay healthy. March: a Civil Rights Journey at 50, a social justice immersion offered by, was a living history lesson, a practical exploration of the social and political changes brought on by the civil rights movement. A team of 10 students and one staff member explored the ways that moments like Bloody Sunday, the Montgomery Bus Boycott and the Freedom Summer of 1964 continue to impact national life around issues of race, equity and citizenship. This panel presentation will discuss the experience and highlight ways that you can be involved in the ongoing work of social justice activism while studying at. To Drink or Not To Drink.that is the question! Explore ways to have fun in college while making smart choices regarding alcohol and drugs. Learn relationship tips to help create and maintain healthy relationships. This workshop focuses on how to obtain oncampus employment at. We will provide information on how to create strong applications and successful interviews and also cover details of the student employment program, including payments and how working on campus can provide for a successful career path in the future. This session will explore the ways that love and truth have been a part of the story since our founding. Learn a bit more about how the past is part of our present and future at. This workshop will describe how language learning marks a pathway for success in college and beyond. This presentation will outline: the important and useful skills attained in language classes; the benefits of experiencing immersive, high-impact practices through community-based learning, study abroad, and internships; and how greater language proficiencies increase career marketability. 's Leadership Certificate program is an opportuntiy for students to explore the meaning of leadership, connect with a staff or faculty mentor, and engage in a service project that can impact the community. Join us to learn about this FREE program that is open to all students, and both the personal and professional development you will find in this program. While always being a salient issue and cause for concern, recent events and news stories have highlighted the problem of sexual assault on college campuses. This session will attempt to address and properly contextualize the issues of sexual violence on college campuses, as well as resources available to the community, including our reporting process as detailed under the new Title IX requirements.
