4 Life-Changing Financial Aid Choosing Indian Hills is the first step to a low-cost education that will yield high returns. Indian Hills offers one of the lowest tuition rates in Iowa. You may be able to reduce these costs even further with grants, scholarships, work-study programs and/or loans. Additional financial aid may be available by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The Financial Aid Office will help you find the assistance you need to further your education and change your life. Foundation Scholarships The Indian Hills Community College Foundation awards more than 500 scholarships each year, ranging from $600 to full tuition for a single year. Selections are based on academic qualifications and other demonstrated qualities and needs. Actor and Indian Hills alumnus Tom Arnold awards two scholarships each year that cover tuition, fees, required books and supply costs for one year. If recipients live on campus, the award also covers basic room and board for one year. academic programs and reputation, as well as its support to student veterans. Indian Hills serves military veterans as well as active-duty military personnel, members of the National Guard, reservists and other persons eligible for Veterans Administration education benefits. Work Study Students may be eligible for work study as part of their financial aid award. A student must have a FAFSA on file in order to be considered for work study opportunities. Work study positions are available on the Ottumwa and Centerville and North campuses. Work study jobs are limited to a maximum of 20 hours per week. Work study students are paid twice a month and may use their earnings to reduce the balance on their student account.
