3 PRESENTATION DESCRIPTIONS DecisionSpace Geosciences (DSG) Software End-to-End Solution Alejandro Salas The technology solution for the oil and gas industry any challenge, any reservoir, anywhere. DecisionSpace Geosciences software can locate and delineate complex reserves replacement opportunities efficiently, economically and at the lowest risk. The tools in place today deliver some answers, but the DecisionSpace Geosciences 10 application suite can deliver not only the answers, but optimal solutions to the industry s challenges. Advanced Geological Structure Modeling Romario Mota/Manuela Silva Advanced geological structure modeling and analysis that helps prevent drilling wells into dry or uneconomic reservoirs and identifies the optimum producing zones for better field development planning. Validate geoscience interpretations using industryrecognized structural geology rules. Define reservoir characteristics to target the best producing reservoir. Create predictive subsurface models in areas of poor or missing data. Software Uncertainties Sérgio Sacani/Larissa Torres/ Tainá Ruchiga Uncertainty analysis is a crucial part of the reservoir characterization process. Uncertainty exists from the beginning of the process of the interpretation of the field, and these uncertainties need to be propagate to the whole workflow. To accomplish the uncertainty in the reservoir characterization process, Landmark uses the technology based on geostatistics, simulating top and base reservoir surfaces, and ranking the realizations based on the GRV of the reservoir. The final result can be sent to the geologist to include these uncertainties in the geological modeling process. Software Shear Tool Mitchel Xavier The PS-converted wave provides complimentary information for the geoscientist, and together with the P wave information, it facilitates the identification and analyses of hydrocarbon accumulations. The Shear Wave Modeling Tool enables the user to generate PS wave synthetic seismograms based on Aki-Richards approximation, which can be loaded to perform the well-tie process in other Landmark applications. Software Matlab Marcelo Gomes Implementation of a user-defined, custom seismic attribute using Matlab, a scientific programming language. Continuous Wavelet Transform multiresolution analysis will be implemented as an example on the demo.
4 Software 4D Seismic Sérgio Sacani/Tainá Ruchiga/ Larissa Torres The 4D plug-in was developed as a fully integrated suite of tools within the DSG software environment. The plug-in offers the necessary operations for a reliable equalization and quality control of 4D Seismic methodology. The following operations are available: amplitude balancing, spectral matching, time-shift calculation (3D volume), time-shift application, time-strain calculation (3D volume), NRMS calculation, and predictability calculation. With the results of a 4D plug-in, you can make a complete interpretation mainly in volumetric 3D environment interpretation to create geoanomalies related to the 4D anomalies, which in the end of the process can be integrated with the flow simulator results. Software Geomechanics Rodrigo Portugal The geomechanics is fully interdisciplinary science. In DSG software, the idea is working with the called seismic geomechanics. The main aim of this product is generate the whole set of inputs need to run a geomechanical simulator. With the DSG technology, you can work with geopressure calculations, the first part of the geomechanical studies, and after that is possible to integrate the seismic data, impedance data, and well data to create a unified geocellular grid with all related information required for a complete geomechanical study of an oil field. Pre-Stack Calibration and Analysis Workflows Mitchel Xavier The integration between the various geological and geophysical workflows has become an important activity in the exploratory context and even for reservoir characterization. The study of AVO, for example, has been used as a tool for leads validation. Therefore, AVO is very important to exploration operations. Well Seismic Fusion provides tools for AVO analysis on pre-stack data, thus contributing to a greater reliability of results. With the application, you can also perform seismic interpretation and attributes extraction in prestack data.
5 DecisionSpace Geosciences Software Unconventional Reservoirs Sérgio Sacani The unconventional reservoir represents nowadays a big challenge both in engineering and in the reservoir characterization process. For software the challenge is even higher, because need to handle with the complexities regarding to this kind of the reservoirs. One of the most complex parts of the reservoir characterization process in the unconventional environment is the geological modeling. The new version of DSG software 10EP is able to deal with all those problems, providing to the user a complete suite of techniques and methodology to create a good and reliable model for unconventional reservoirs. The idea is present the methods available in the new version of DSG software to modeling the unconventional reservoirs. Seismic Processing & Imaging SeisSpace Software Bob Basker One of the most used applications in the oil industry for seismic processing, SeisSpace software is an interface for the old ProMAX software and brings a new set of tools developed for use Java-esque data format, which enables greater efficiency parallel processing, among other benefits. In addition to a user-friendly interface, there are new tools for quality control and for faster and dynamic access to the data. The advances in pre-salt are becoming more common, and consequently, problems related to imaging structures below the salt are increasingly present. The Landmark Depth Imaging (LDI) package, fully integrated to SeisSpace software, offers the most current in seismic imaging. For example, reverse time migration, has the ability to perform an almost perfect imaging of very complex structures immersed in media with large lateral velocity variations and with any degree of inclination. In addition to the most modern and robust migration algorithms, the LDI package has modern tools for acoustic and elastic modeling, visibility and illumination studies, and tomography (based on wave equation). For example, visibility analyses enable the optimization of seismic acquisition parameters, amplitude compensation in shadow areas, and target oriented migration of DSG software to modeling the unconventional reservoirs. DecisionSpace Geosciences Software Integrated Reservoir Workflows Alejandro Salas Advances in geological, geophysical, and engineering solutions created the need to integrate data from different sources. This integration enables geoscientists and engineers to discuss a field development plan with all available information from geophysics workflow as seismic interpretation, time-depth conversion, attributes, and geological processes. In addition, correlation, petrophysics analysis, geological modeling and discuss with simulation and production engineers the reservoir characterization and monitoring.
6 Real-Time Solution for Geoscientists Larissa Torres Enhanced collaboration between geologists, geophysics, and drilling personnel in a common visualization environment can have significant positive impact by minimizing iterations in original well planning, improving well placement, reducing uncertainties, analyzing risk factors, and studying fluid losses and influxes through common discussions during real-time operations. This solution helps correlate all available information from different sources, which contributes to a more comprehensive field development workflow; maximizes the development plan, asset performance, and the real-time decision making process; reduces non-productive time (NPT); and avoids issues. Advanced Flow Simulation Nexus Software Marcelo Madeira Nexus next-generation reservoir-stimulation software provides users the integrated modeling tool needed to solve today s challenges. Reservoirs, wells, and surface facilities can be included in Nexus models to understand the behavior of the asset. The flow models are coupled across the surface and subsurface with an implicit pressure solution, helping to ensure a robust and accurate accounting of physical effects within a single application. Competing solutions use multiple applications that are loosely coupled; this limits their performance and stability. In this presentation, we will show you how to extract the best results from Giga-models in pre-salt challenges.
