2 From Our CEO 2 From Our CEO Dear valued customers, collaborative partners and friends, For twelve years, WuXi takes pride in providing high-quality R&D services to our customers in a cost-effective and efficient way. Through the support of our customers and partners, we have been able to achieve solid growth in our global business. On behalf of all WuXi employees, I want to thank you for your continued trust and confidence in WuXi. We are proud of what we accomplished for our customers in In February, we opened a chemistry facility in Wuhan to give our customers a new pricing option. In October, we began operation of a new cgmp drug-substance biologics manufacturing facility in Wuxi. We signed many new contracts in biologics, including a joint venture with MedImmune to co-develop the anti-il6 monoclonal antibody for the China market. We delivered nine small molecule preclinical drug candidates for our clients. We produced advanced intermediates for five commercial products and grew our late-stage manufacturing pipeline. The company entered into an agreement to form a joint venture with PRA to offer clinical research services in China. And we continued to invest in building new capabilities and capacities with $67.8 million in new capital assets to better serve you, our value customers. Our goal is to build an open-access technology and capability platform that will enable anyone and any company to discover and develop therapeutic products to benefit patients. This special forum hosted by WuXi during JP Morgan Conference focused on issues relating to global health, China in particular, global strategies for discovering and developing innovative medicines, and perspectives from senior executives with China experience. 4 Special Event 4 Chinese Premier Li Keqiang Visits WuXi Headquarter in Shanghai Chinese Premier Li Keqiang visited WuXi's headquarter in Shanghai on March 28, The visit was part of the first research tour by the newly elected Chinese Premier since assuming office in March diseases prevalent in the Chinese population, and WuXi strives to become the partner-of-choice for its global collaborators to bring more innovative products to the fast-growing Chinese healthcare market. Dr. Ge Li, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of WuXi, accompanied Premier Li on the tour of our research laboratories. "We are very excited to host Premier Li at WuXi," said Dr. Ge Li. "He always pays close attention to the healthcare industry and the well-being of Chinese people. WuXi will continue to strengthen our platform to enable more companies, organizations and entrepreneurs to discover and develop better therapeutic products for patients." Premier Li's visit highlights WuXi's leadership in China's life science industries. 5 Featured Story 5 WuXi and PRA Form Joint Venture to Offer Clinical Research Services in China China's pharmaceutical market today is the third largest in the world and growing very rapidly. Biopharmaceutical companies increasingly need sophisticated clinical-trial management services to gather the highest-quality data in Chinese patients to complete Chinese and international regulatory filings as quickly and successfully as possible. Expertise in global clinical trials as well as deep local knowledge is essential to ensure success. In December 2012, WuXi announced a joint venture (JV) with PRA International, a leading global clinical contract research organization, to offer a broad platform of Phase I-IV clinical research services for the Chinese market. The joint venture will provide services that include clinical trial monitoring, project management, regulatory strategy and submissions, data management, biostatistics, drug safety reporting, and medical monitoring. The joint venture will be operated under WuXi PRA Clinical Research Co. Ltd. WuXi will contribute clinical and regulatory experience to the joint venture from its China-based clinical organization. That organization covers all regions of the country and has employees working in 16 Chinese cities, with offices in Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou. PRA offers the joint venture a wealth of global resources and clinical research expertise, reflected in more than 3,100 studies conducted over the last five years and contributions to 40 approved drugs in several therapeutic areas. 6 Platform News 6 WuXi Receives Letter from AAALAC Commending Exemplary Animal Care In March 2013, WuXi s Suzhou toxicology facility was awarded the full accreditation from the Association for the Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC), which commended the facility for providing and maintaining an exemplary program of animal care. Accreditation from AAALAC, the organization that sets the worldwide standard for animal care and handling, reflects our continuing commitment to the highest industry and regulatory standards, and our unwavering commitment to provide our clients the highest quality services. WuXi Manufacturing Subsidiary STA Receives Quality CMO Award On March 13, 2013, Shanghai Syn-The-All Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. ( STA ), a wholly owned subsidiary of WuXi, received a Quality Award at the CMO Leadership Awards Reception and Ceremony hosted at the DCAT Conference in Washington D.C. by Life Science Leader magazine. Winners of the awards were selected by Nice Insight, which annually surveys over 11,000 buyers of outsourced services. WuXi and OMT Expand Human Antibody Development and Commercial Opportunities In March 2013, WuXi and Open Monoclonal Technology, Inc. (OMT), an innovator in novel transgenic animals for development of human therapeutic antibodies, announced a second agreement that expands WuXi's use of OMT's OmniRat and OmniMouse technologies and strengthens the development and commercial opportunities for WuXi's Asian regional and global clients. WuXi is the first and currently the only company authorized by OMT to host OmniRat in China. This transaction advances WuXi's goal of working with skilled partners to enhance the company's technologies and capabilities to better serve its customers. The OmniRat platform has now been duplicated at WuXi's Shanghai facility, enabling WuXi to generate antibodies for customers from its own laboratories. Under the new agreement, WuXi's clients can choose to develop and commercialize products globally or regionally in China, Korea, Japan or other Asian countries. This new agreement allows WuXi to further expand its service offerings with the OmniRat and OmniMouse platforms," said Edward Hu, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of WuXi. "WuXi is proud of the confidence OMT has shown in the quality of WuXi's antibody research capabilities and intellectual property protection practices in authorizing WuXi to host the OmniRat and OmniMouse platforms in our laboratories."

The awards aim to foster early innovation and encourage pursuit of excellence in life science research.
