In order to earn the Eagle badge, the student must complete a service project that will benefit someone else. Two of our school s alumni and members of OLL s Boy Scout Troop 566 have given back to our school very generously through their service project. Last year, Daniel Reyna created a program to each middle school students about financial planning & savviness. He taught the students how to sort and spend their money into four buckets : charity, savings, needs, and investments to help their money grow. This year, we are extremely thankful for another alumnus, Lindsay Dunkeley, for his service learning project. He worked very hard to put together a sitting area in the school s recess area. The picnic tables were built by him and also added mulch and plants to the area. Now, the school community has a beautiful sitting area to enjoy. Varsity Boys Basketball Team Clinch 2014 ACC Championship! Our Varsity Boys Basketball finished the season with a regular season record of 7-1 and were East Co-Division Champions with St. Patrick s School that also finished season 7-1. On December 14 th, the Cheetahs advanced to the Championship game versus the St. Rose of Lima Cardinals. In the first half, the Cheetahs led 19-8, but with 6 minutes left in the game, the Cardinals would rally from behind and make a 19-8 run tying the game at The team won the game The Our Lady of the Lakes Boys Basketball Team clinched the A All Catholic Conference Championship and became the first OLL team to win the title since For more information about our school, you may visit our Facebook page at

With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we nourish and educate our children, both spiritually and intellectually. We assist the poorest of our parishes and schools so that all persons may encounter Jesus Christ. We provide shelter for the homeless. As Catholics, we consistently defend and respect the dignity of all human life, work to eliminate prejudice, and promote social justice. We journey together by sharing in the sacraments from baptism to receiving the Eucharist, to confirmation and penance, to marriage and anointing the sick. And this year, we are blessed with sixty-five men studying in our seminaries answering their call to the priesthood to become shepherds of Christ here in south Florida. You make all this possible. Let us unite through our support of this year s ABCD so that I you and we can continue to carry out the good works of Jesus Christ here in South Florida. Thank you for your support of ABCD!!
