3 Welcome to CTB.com CTB.com can be accessed at The site provides a web-based application that hosts WELPA secure training and reference materials, as well as an online catalog of WELPA Placement Test materials for additional orders exclusively for Washington State school districts. For Braille placement test materials, please contact CTB/WELPA Customer Care. You will need a username and password to access the WELPA links. This User Guide offers instructions and best practices for using CTB.com to meet your district s needs. Before You Begin Each district has been issued a CTB.com account. Usernames and temporary passwords were provided in a communication to districts by the CTB team. Users will be prompted to create a new password the first time they log in to CTB.com. As part of security protocol, it is highly recommended that users reset their password regularly. Access to the secure fie sharing site may require IT support to clear district firewalls, and to ensure that the computer used to access the secure site has Adobe Acrobat Reader and Java installed. For security, always close your browser when you have finished visiting CTB.com. This prevents an unauthorized user from accessing your CTB.com account. Access to the online catalog of Placement Test materials for additional orders does not require IT support or any special software. A form of payment (purchase order or corporate credit card) is needed to complete an order. Please note the CTB.com system will time-out after 20 minutes of inactivity. 4 Getting Started You can access CTB.com any time. The secure site and online catalog are available 24/7 with a valid username and password. Overview The Secure File Sharing site provides a central location for districts to access secure materials. It is designed to exceed industry-standard security measures so you are assured that WELPA secure training and reference materials are protected. The Program Specific Catalog allows districts to order additional Placement Test materials throughout the school year. Districts pay for these test materials and related shipping cost. A purchase order (PO) or credit card is required to complete an order. Secure File Sharing Site - Access Instructions 1. Before you log in to download materials from the secure file sharing site, your district IT professional will need to configure your district s firewall rules accordingly: Firewall Rules (Outbound) Destination Source Port Protocol Destination IP TCP ftp.ctb.com* "All" (Any computer on the district's local network that will be used to access Secure File Sharing) * If your district firewall requires you to whitelist the IP address of ftp.ctb.com, please use: Please note that port 443 and port 80 must also be open in your firewall to access and Secure File Sharing. These are standard ports that must be open to allow access to the internet, and it is assumed that most if not all users already have these ports open. Proxies are not supported at this time. 5 2. While not required, we recommend that you add to your list of Trusted Sites in your internet browser. 3. Ensure Adobe Acrobat Reader is installed on any computers that will be used to download files from Secure File Sharing. You can access a free download of Acrobat reader at 4. Ensure Java (any version) is installed on any computers that will be used to download files from Secure File Sharing (Java plug-in may also need to be enabled in the web browser). You can access a free download of Java at Program Specific Catalog - Access Instructions The online catalog is immediately available with a valid username and password and an internet connection. Enter in your web browser and select Order WELPA Placement Test Materials under the Program Specific Catalog heading. Logging in to CTB.com 1. Access the website at and enter your username and password. The first time you log in, you will be required to create a permanent password. 6 2. From the My Programs Overview page, click WELPA>> for secure files, WELPA User Guide>> or Order WELPA Placement Tests>> for additional orders. Secure File Sharing Site Training and reference materials are arranged by test administration. To view files, select the administration header and click + to expand the table. Administration Headers Download Files: 1. Click on the filename or the check box next to the file(s) you wish to download and click Download. You can download up to ten files at a time. 7 2. Browse to the location on your computer to save the document and click Save. A message similar to the one below will appear indicating the file transfer status ( Initializing SFTP followed by Transferring ). If the file you are downloading is very small, this message will only be displayed momentarily. Do not close your browser or navigate to another site while file transfer is in process, or your connection will be lost. A confirmation screen will come up when the document is downloaded. 9 A menu of available materials can be found by expanding the WELPA Placement Test Materials link at the bottom of the catalog webpage. Order Additional Placement Test Materials: 1. 11 From My Saved Cart, click Load Cart and proceed to complete your order. 3. Shipping and Payment Your district address will appear as Your Default Shipping Address. DO NOT select any of the school addresses that may appear below your district address. Click Continue to proceed. Enter a form of payment. Click Continue to proceed. Your district address will appear as Your Default Billing Address. DO NOT select any of the school addresses that may appear below your district address. Click Continue to proceed. The same information will be sent to the District Assessment Coordinator s address.
