It was sad to learn how massage therapists were taken advantage of as well as being disrespected, no matter how hard they worked. I began to wonder that
6 maybe my mission wasn t to start a business, but to start a Labor Union for Massage Therapists to promote the field of Massage Therapy as well as to protect the LMTs. Even though that never happened, I was always glad that AMTA was there for us. It is amazing how much AMTA-NY has grown to protect the field of Massage Therapy. When the opportunity to become a Unit Chair opened up for me, I felt as though that long-held passion found a home. The Office of Delegate is a further growth of that passion to represent LMTs and the issues that mean a lot to them. Having already served as an AMTA-NY 2010 Delegate, I would consider it an honor to continue that representation. LIST ANY COMMUNITY OR PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Work Experience March Current Variety of settings, inclusive of: Home-based business Chiropractic & Naturopathic offices Hospital wellness center Massage therapy offices Onsite business chair massage Fitness & health clubs Health & wellness events Salon spa Retreats Humanitarian Endeavors Akha Women s Foundation Project Chiang Mai/Chiang Rai, Thailand Feb 2000; July 2003; August 2006 ATTENDED AMTA NATIONAL MEETINGS: AMTA 2010 National Convention; House of Delegates AMTA 2010 National Convention; Chapter Leadership Training ATTENDED AMTA STATE MEETINGS AT: AMTA-NY Convention: Unit Chair Training; 2009, 2010 Southern Tier Unit Business Meetings; Johnson City, NY, 2009, 2010, 2011 AMTA-NY BOD Teleconferences 2009, 2010 & 2011 AMTA-NY 2010 Delegate Teleconferences; 2010 AMTA-NY Convention Business Meetings; 2009, 2010 AMTA-NY Convention Committee Teleconferences; May 2010 current AMTA-NY Unit Chair Teleconferences; 2010, 2011
