1 Application for Higher Education Advanced Standing Transfer of Credit (Ver.2.01) INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLICATION All particulars must be completed and the form signed by the student before the application is submitted to the Higher Education Student Services Department. APPLICATION FEE: There are no fees associated with this Application if it is submitted within TWO weeks of the commencement of the first semester of the Higher Education course you have enrolled in. A Late application fee of $100:00 per application will apply for applications submitted more than TWO weeks after the start of the first semester of the higher education course you have enrolled into. The following documents MUST be attached: [Please tick accordingly] All certified copies of academic transcript(s) of previous study or courses. Unit outlines for the units/courses you have studied and are seeking credit recognition for where these are not included on the List of Approved Exemptions. If you need certification for your supporting documents, bring along your ORIGINAL SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION and this application to the Higher Education Student Services Department. Staff members of the Higher Education Student Services Department can sight originals, make a copy, annotate these as Originals sighted and then return your original documents to you. Application All completed application for advanced standing must be submitted within TWO WEEKS after the start of the first semester of the higher education course in which you have enrolled. A LATE application fee of $100 will be charged for applications submitted after this deadline. Applications submitted after CENSUS DATE will not be eligible for a refund of fees (if applicable) for units for which Advanced Standing is awarded. 2. Notification of outcome You will be notified of the outcome of your application by the Higher Education Student Services Department via Polytechnic West address. You should check your Polytechnic West account regularly for the notification. 3. International students Granting of advanced standing might affect your course duration, and consequently the study period stated on your student visa. Polytechnic West International Centre will notify Education and Training International who may need to contact the Department of Immigration and Citizenship accordingly. Polytechnic West follows Education and Training International (ETI) refund policy where refund of fees is concerned. Please refer to the ETI website at for further information. 4. Outcome of your application Please note that granting of advanced standing might affect credit recognition provided under articulation arrangements made between PWA and its university partners. 5. Appeal If you believe that your application has not been fully or fairly reviewed, you may lodge an appeal within 10 working days of receipt of the outcome of your application.
