3 1. 3 keytech 13 FP 2 About this What s New This document is intended for users that want to update their product. It contains the most important updates we have made since the keytech 13 Feature Pack 1 version that is available to download in the customer area. About keytech 13 FP 2 With keytech 13 FP (Feature Pack) 2 we have enhanced keytech 13 with a number of new functions and improvements. The most important updates in the Feature Pack are in the following areas: Projekt Management CAD User Interface With Feature Pack 2, keytech 13 now supports the CAD system DraftSight as well as SolidWorks Electrical. With the new Structured Location/Storing functionality it is possible to transfer information from parent folders.

Quickly relocate documents with the automatic, unified description. Changes to legacy information carried out for all documents. 6 6 1.2 keytech 13 - What's New Project Management The keytech Project Management now has new display options. You now have an even better overview of the status of your projects and the team capacity. The following updates and improvements are available with Feature Pack 2: Diagrams in Reports You can now add various diagrams to your reports. Diagram: Diagram in Report Absences in the Team Calendar The team calendar now shows employees absences. Diagram: Team Calendar with Absences shown. Double-Bookings Visible Double-bookings are now visible. Diagram: Display with Double-Bookings.

10 10 keytech 13 - What's New Automatic Revision Control Automatic revision control guarantees that after a change is made to a model during versioning both the drawing and the item will also be versioned. This function was introduced in Feature Pack 1 for SolidWorks and is now also available for Solid Edge. Diagram: Automatic revision control of the parent drawing based on the model. Features Status-dependent automatic revision control for drawings and items. Supports the CAD store dialog as well as the individual store dialog (The individual store dialog is supported only for the automatic revision control). Uses the next valid version number or takes the model version (configurable). Change notices are created automatically. You can also access keytech information (configurable). Supports history revisions. Each drawing class and each item can be configured differently. Configuration of the automatic revision control is carried out via global settings (TBOX_AutoVers_*). Note There are some configuration steps necessary before the functionality can be used. Please contact us for me information. Until now the drawing title box and preview were not updated as part of this function.

11 Assembly Revision Control The assembly revision control function allows the revision of parent assemblies of an already versioned part. This function was introduced in Feature Pack 1 for SolidWorks and is now also available for Solid Edge. Diagram: Assembly Revision Control of a Part Features You can begin the assembly revision control on the old or the new version of the part. All parent assemblies will be listed. You can choose to run revision control on individual, several or all parent assemblies at the same time. The bills of material for items linked to the assembly will be updated. Change notices are created automatically (configurable). Note There are some configuration steps necessary before the functionality can be used. Please contact us for me information. You can only run the revision control when there is no earlier revision of the relevant assembly in existence.

13 Preparation of SolidWorks Structures The functionality of exporting SolidWorks structures was taken from keytech 12 VB and included in keytech 13 Feature Pack 2. This function allows you to check out complete SolidWorks structures, including assembly drawings and references. Diagram: The various structure export functions in the toolbar Features Export the original structure, the mostly recently released revisions or the current revisions. Configure the standard target directory (Global setting: SolidWorks_ExhangePath). The option to use an alternative target directory. The option to load linked drawings. The option to reserve documents (if possible). The option to record the results in an XML file in the target directory. Notes There are some configuration steps necessary before the functionality can be used (configurable via the extras functions). Please contact us for more information. 14 14 keytech 13 - What's New Loadable Configurations The function you use to load a specific configuration of parts and/or assemblies has been expanded with the possibility of adding one part to another. Now you can load the selected configuration directly into the assembly that is opened in SolidWorks. You can choose to load directly or to load into the assembly that is active in SolidWorks.

15 SolidWorks Mouse Gestures and Pop-Up Toolbars With Feature Pack 2 the keytech functions of the SolidWorks interface can be added to the mouse gestures. You can also integrate the keytech menu button into the popup toolbar (S-key menus). Integration of the keytech menu into the pop-up toolbar. Separate configuration of parts, assemblies and drawings possible. Notes You can configure this functionality directly in SolidWorks. To do this call up Extras -> Configure... You can find further installation instructions in the current keytech SolidWorks Interface Help (from the fifth edition). As part of this update all keytech functions will now be shown in the keytech menu in Solidworks. The functions available for the current file type as well as the deactivated functions in the AddIn profile will no longer be hidden; they will be shown as deactivated instead.

16 16 keytech 13 - What's New Configurations List With the new configurations list, you can quickly and easily assign all configurations of the selected model to existing or new items. Diagram: Configurations List in the Store Dialog Features Assign a configuration to an opened item. Assign a configuration to a new item. The article will be created directly in the store dialog. Assignment either for the selected configuration or for all configurations. Lift item assignment of a configuration. Open the assigned item of the selected configuration in the keytech editor. 18 keytech 13 - What's New SolidWorks Electrical Interface With keytech 13 Feature Pack 2 there is an interface with SolidWorks Electrical available. Bi-directional synchronization of the item base data (manufacturer parts libraries). Loading and saving of Solidworks electrical projects.
