1 Tore R. Nielsen A suwey of some Norwegian Hoverfly genera In his ccenumeratio lnsectorum Norvegicorum, Fasc. IV*, Siebke (1877) presented a survey of the Norwegian hoverfly fauna of last century. Later on different authors published material from various parts of the country. Totally about 250 species names have been reported from Norway. Some of the published records are now in need of revision. As a general rule only verified old material has been accepted for this. In addition ncw material from private and museum collections should be added to the fauna list. The present paper surveys 20 smaller genera. The specimens were mostly collected in flowers of Rununcltlus repens and ucris, but one male also in Turuxacum sp. EIS number: 28. Dates: 29 May - 6 July. 0. geniculatu (Mcigen, 1830). Map 15. Previous records: EIS 7 (Nielsen 1972 a). New records: 38mm, 27ff from 28 localities. A widespread and rather frequent species in early summer, occurring also at higher altitudes. Mostly met with in humid bogs and at the borders of lakes and streams,on catkins ofdifferent Sulk and on Cult~1a pul1rsrris.
