2 Atos Business Intelligence Dashboards and Analytics SCS The Atos approach to Business Intelligence (BI) Dashboards and Analytics involves taking an holistic view of data held by the customer on all systems (including cloud based) and enabling the customer to understand the current and future trends that may influence the customer s strategy. This service has been designed to be delivered agnostic of the underlying platform, and is suitable therefore for consumption by customers currently deploying public cloud, private cloud, hybrid cloud or dedicated infrastructure configurations, and by those moving towards a more cloud-based deployment. Atos provides a range of services to help customers design, plan and deliver Business Intelligence (BI) Dashboards and Analytics solutions to implement effective business change. Atos is a key supplier to the Public Sector, delivering wide ranging and secure systems in major customers like DWP, HMRC, MOJ and DoH. In many cases Atos is already developing Business Intelligence Dashboards and Analytic solutions that collect, integrate and deliver critical management information. As such we are uniquely placed to understand the requirements of the Public Sector market and to recommend the most appropriate methods and tools. What s included Atos Business Intelligence and Analytics team will work with the customer to understand the current situation, and business requirements, and then agree the strategy, principles and solution in order to achieve the desired results. Atos Business Intelligence Dashboards and Analytics form the core step of an application development project and include the following activities: Requirements Gathering Design (High Level and Detailed) Build (Solution Development (including mobile and cloud)) Test Unit Testing and Developer Testing (such as through the application of Behaviour Driven Development). Atos can provide expertise in numerous best-in-class technology BI solutions, and has capabilities for SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, IBM (Cognos, Netezza, and Datastage), QlikTech, SAS, Informatica, Cloudera, EMC and Esri. The service is delivered by trained designers and developers who follow the Atos inhouse, CMMI accredited global methodology (the Global Development Platform, or GDP). The GDP is aligned to PRINCE 2, MSP and ITIL delivery standards and includes best practice for Waterfall, Iterative / Phased and Agile (SCRUM, DSDM, Kanban) lifecycle approaches. Development Methodology Atos have a fully proven software development methodology to provide development services in many disciplines and platforms. To maintain good practice and a common approach, Atos development practitioners use the same tools, follow the same work flow, and use the same templates and processes. Atos uses its Global Delivery Platform (GDP) to deliver software projects. Atos supports both Agile and Iterative lifecycle models as well as the traditional waterfall approach. iii

Introduction 1.1 Service summary Atos provides a range of services to help customers design, plan and deliver Business Intelligence (BI) Dashboards and Analytics solutions to implement effective business change. Atos has vast experience of working within multiple Government customers benefiting from Business Intelligence solutions. Updating and providing support for existing business legacy applications. Migrating (or utilising) legacy business applications to modern platforms. Augmenting the customer s BI & Analytics team with trained and 6

Service overview 2.1 Enabling Strategy The Atos approach to Business Intelligence (BI) Dashboards and Analytics involves taking an holistic view of data held by the customer on all systems (including cloud based) and enabling the customer to understand the current and future trends that may influence the customer s strategy. 2.2 Business & User Needs Design Principles Sound data design is crucial to ensure credibility of the date and secure the take up and use of dashboards and reports. Through an iterative and interactive process, the customer can quickly test the fit of an application and the likely acceptance by the user community before development commences - saving time and money. Atos uses this approach when developing BI dashboards, to ensure rapid user adoption. 2.3 Capabilities The service is delivered by experienced, professionally accredited technologists in the following disciplines: Atos CLAS Consultants Enterprise Architects Business Process Experts Business Intelligence Consultants Project Managers Solution Architects Data Architects Technical Architects Integration Architects Agile - SCRUM Masters Application managers User Experience Designers (UXD). 2.4 Development Methodology Atos Business Intelligence Dashboards and Analytics form the core step of an application development project and include the following activities: Requirements Gathering Design High Level and Detailed Build Solution Development (including mobile and cloud) Test Unit Testing and Developer Testing (such as through the application of Behaviour Driven Development). 8

9 These activities can be undertaken as part of a traditional water-fall style project or, more commonly and effectively within an Agile development methodology. Atos can provide expertise in numerous best-in-class technology BI solutions, and has capabilities for SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, IBM (Cognos, Netezza, and Datastage), QlikTech, SAS, Informatica, Cloudera, EMC and Esri. The service is delivered by trained designers and developers who follow the Atos in-house, CMMI accredited global methodology (the Global Development Platform, or GDP). The GDP is aligned to PRINCE 2, MSP and ITIL delivery standards and includes best practice for Waterfall, Iterative / Phased and Agile (SCRUM, DSDM, Kanban) lifecycle approaches. 2.5 Tooling & Infrastructure All development projects are supported by world-class tooling and infrastructure: Clients require best-in-class technology BI solutions, which Atos can provide and has capabilities for SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, IBM (Cognos, Netezza, and Datastage), QlikTech, SAS, Informatica, Cloudera, EMC and Esri. 2.6 Agile & Iterative Atos supports both Agile and Iterative lifecycle models as well as the traditional waterfall approach. The iterative development approach focuses on the release of testable products at the earliest opportunity, then refines and extends these products. An architecturedriven imperative is added to reduce the risk that early releases will not stand up to live use, and to reduce refactoring costs. Development is based around Scrum-iterations - sprints - with agile work products such as the Product and Sprint backlogs used to document the overall scope. Burndown charts used to track process with User Stories to capture requirements. Agile GDP supports the use of story points and team velocity for user story estimation and Sprint planning. The BI development resources subscribe to test automation practices such as TDD (test driven development) that enable changes to be made with confidence within iterations and improve maintainability of code, and BDD (behaviour driven development) which test the end-to-end features, ensuring the software exhibits the behaviour agreed with the customer. Highly automated build and release processes are implemented to improve the release quality and reduce release overheads Best of breed tooling enables the Atos teams to have integrated development environments, code/configuration tooling, source control and build tooling Atos will use its skilled resources and capability to provide either a solution using these skills, as a part of a larger programme, or to advise an existing team. 2.7 Service Roadmap Not applicable to this service. 9

10 3. Information assurance Atos is fully committed to protecting the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of consumer data that is entrusted to us. We provide accredited services to a wide range of UK government departments including the Home Office, Department of Work and Pensions, the Ministry of Defence, executive agencies, local authorities and other public sector and government regulated organisations. A number of our G-Cloud services have been formally accredited by the Pan Government Accreditor (PGA). We also serve many different private sector organisations, including financial services institutions and health services. Atos has a number of sites and facilities that are HMG accredited to process information at OFFICIAL, these sites meet or exceed the standards laid down in the Security Policy Framework (SPF). The Atos Data Centres are ISO27001 certified and PCI DSS certified. The Atos PaaS service has approval for connection to the PSN network. In all cases these facilities are hosted on-shore in the UK, managed by SC cleared staff and include secure office areas and secure data processing centres. In the financial services sector we provide services that meet FSA requirements. The PCI Security Standards Council and VISA Europe have classified Atos UK as a Level 1 Payment Services Provider, based on its aggregated level of Payment Card transactions. We have a company-wide strategic PCI DSS Compliance programme which defines methods and timescales for the achievement of compliance for all of Atos hosted customer accounts and support services, whose requirements include the processing of Payment Card information. Within the defence sector, Atos is approved to hold UK government OFFICIAL protectively marked information and has the capability and accreditation to host data and associated systems marked as SECRET or TOP SECRET. Atos uses customer networks for transmission where appropriate and is fully compliant with procedures relating to the manual handling of protectively marked information. 10

11 4. Backup/restore and disaster recovery Backup/restore and disaster recovery arrangements are in place on Atos-owned infrastructure. Where client-owned infrastructure is used, the customer s own support arrangements are used. 11

12 5. On-boarding and off-boarding Atos offers a full development lifecycle from requirements through to testing. Please refer to the following service descriptions for more details; Requirements & Specification Service Atos User Experience Design Service Architecture & Design Service. 5.1 On-boarding There are a set of dependencies that are expected to be in place prior to the start of the Software Solution Development Service, such as documented architecture, user interface design and requirements. Additional training can be provided in the tools and techniques for the customer s staff to provide the appropriate pre-requisites, if required. The complexity and effort will be driven by the perceived duration and needs of the planned work. 5.2 Off-boarding The off-boarding process for the Software Solution Development Service is the handover to testing. The test team is expected to have been involved throughout the software solution development process and will have used the outputs from the processes such as the Detailed Functional Design to assist in the creation of test plans. The service includes full support and defect resolution during the testing phases (e.g. system testing, user-acceptance testing). 12

13 6. Pricing The service is delivered according to the specific needs of each engagement. Atos pricing is based on per day rate cards aligned to the SFIA job definitions and separate rates exist for onshore and offshore rates. Please refer to the SFIA rate card - Atos and the SFIA Rate Card Atos Offshore for the standard rates for this service. The primary roles which are engaged in delivering this service are: Service item SFIA Grade(s) Junior developer 2-3 Senior designer/developer 4 Development Lead 5 The Atos SFIA rate card is attached as a Supporting Document. Standards applicable to the above day rates are as follows: Consultant s Working Day 8 hours exclusive of travel and lunch Working Week Monday to Friday excluding national holidays Office Hours - 09:00 17:00 Monday to Friday Travel and Subsistence Included in day rate within M25. Payable at department s standard T&S rates outside M25 Mileage As above Professional Indemnity Insurance included in day rate. 6.1 Other Professional services Available as per the Atos SFIA rate card. 6.2 Termination terms Please refer directly to Atos standard Terms and conditions. 13

14 7. Service management Atos BI Dashboard Development services normally operate within an overall project management context. Where this service is purchased free-standing, a project/service management wrapper will be built in to workplans and effort estimates. This will normally include status/progress reporting. 14

16 9. Service levels Atos provides suitably trained individuals to complete the tasks necessary for this service. They can work at the client site or remotely, depending on the need for access to: Client staff Client applications & network. Atos standard working hours / days are 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday, excluding public & regional holidays. 16

17 10. Financial recompense To minimise the cost to users, Atos does not provide service credits for use of the service. All Atos services are provided on a reasonable endeavours basis. Please refer to the Atos Supplier Terms. In accordance with the guidance within the CCS G-Cloud Framework Terms and Conditions, the Customer may terminate the Call-Off Agreement at any time, without cause, by giving at least thirty (30) Working Days prior notice in writing. The Call-Off Agreement terms and conditions and the Atos Supplier Terms will define the circumstances where a refund of any pre-paid service charges may be available. 17

18 11. Training Atos are pleased to be able to offer a wide range of training services from formal class room based training to on line webinar type training. In addition Atos will develop training materials that elaborate on the Customer specific business process rather than a generic training based on the product only. Training material can be provided in a format suitable for usage via a Web Browser. 18

19 12. Ordering and invoicing process Ordering this product is a straightforward process. Please forward your requirements to the address We will prepare a quotation and agree that quotation with you, including any volume discounts that may be applicable. Once the quotation is agreed, we will issue you with the necessary documentation (as required by the G-Cloud Framework) and ask you to provide us with a purchase order. Once we have received your purchase order, the services will be configured to the requirements agreed. If you are a new customer, additional new supplier forms may need to be completed. Invoices will be issued to you and Shared Services (quoting the purchase order number) for the services procured. On a monthly basis, we will also complete the mandated management information reports to Government Procurement Services detailing the spend that you have placed with us. Termination terms 13.1 By consumers (i.e. consumption) Termination shall be in accordance with: The G-Cloud Framework terms and conditions Any terms agreed within the Call Off Agreement under section 10.2 of the Order Form (termination without cause) where the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) guidance states At least thirty (30) Working Days in accordance with Clause CO-9.2 of the Call-Off Agreement Atos Supplier Terms for this Service as listed on the Digital Marketplace. For this specific service, by default Atos ask for at least thirty (30) Working Days prior written notice of termination as per the guidance within the CCS G-Cloud Framework Terms and Conditions By the Supplier (removal of the G-Cloud Service) Atos commits to continue to provide the service for the duration of the Call-Off Agreement subject to the terms and conditions of the G-Cloud Framework, the Call-Off Agreement and the Atos Supplier Terms. 20

Customer responsibilities Efficient operation of an applications development project requires timely provision of a range of information and services by the users and client organisation; these will be outlined in the workplan and usually include: Context: access to strategies and business plans Expertise: access to users for interviews & workshops Knowledge: access to current documentation and applications Facilities: work space, physical access & network/internet access (if on client site). 22

Technical requirements Efficient project delivery during the requirements management & specification stages - usually requires consideration of access to: The Atos network (usually via the Internet) The Internet/WWW Any shared project areas (e.g. on client or Atos network or cloud-based) Development and test environments Client legacy systems. 23
