JPL connects you to your world, your community, and yourself. Get a Library Card Any resident of the city of Joliet may apply for a library card at the Circulation Desk at either location. Applicants must present one current government issued photo ID that verifies their name, and one printed form of identification that verifies their current address. (PO boxes may not be used.) This is a great first playgroup for children and a great opportunity to meet other caregivers. CLM Curious Little Monkeys Play Group Birth-36 mos This parent-child play experience combines elements of traditional lapsit with an additional ½ hour of theme-related free play activity. Each week begins with a special visit by our puppet mascot Jamberry Bear, and finishes with each child marching and playing an instrument in JPL s very own storytime parade! FS Family Storytime Birth - 6 yrs All your favorite storytime elements will be combined into one event, including stories, bubbles, songs, parachute play, and crafts =Black Road Branch Littlest Makers Monthly Ages 18 mos-5 yrs, registration required and opens Sept 8, Oct 4, and Nov 1 Littlest Makers invites families with young children to tinker, design and create together. Explore new materials, tools and processes as you make a project to take home. Sometimes creativity can get messy, so dress your little maker (and yourself) in old clothing that can be splattered with things like paint, ink and glue. 11 Digital Media Studio The studio is equipped with both Macs and PCs for industry-standard image, video, and audio editing. Staff is available to assist you with a variety of multi-media projects. You can design posters, create and record music or podcasts, build websites, edit photos, create animations, and much more! The Digital Media Studio is located on the 2nd floor of the Main Library. Patrons may not operate the 3D printers but are welcome to design an object and observe the 3D printers in action. The Digital Media Studio sees a wide variety of talent come through their doors each month. Photographers, musicians, animators, designers and anyone else needing a creative space are encouraged to take advantage of the studio. As a way to pay tribute to these unique creators, DMS staff will select a patron as Artist of the Month. The winner receives a customized poster that will be displayed in the Studio for that month. 11
